Best I've tried, so far
My introduction to Shanxi vinegar was Dong Hu brand. I was instantly hooked, it's amazing stuff; couldn't imagine it getting any better than that. Figured I owed it to myself to try some more brands though, so I picked up a bottle of this. It is in fact better, slightly sweeter and more flavorful. Still, it's fairly close. I would have expected more of a difference between the two, this having been aged for 5 years. I think I paid $5 for Dong Hu brand at my local Chinese market, and $15 for this. I'd buy either of them again, but I do have a preference for Shuita brand.

Very tasty aged vinegar
It's an excellent vinegar to bring sour to your dishes. There's only a subtle sweetness, definitely not loaded with sugar or artificial flavors. Be careful if you use this with Cast Iron or Carbon Steel, it'll ruin your patina/seasoning

Excellent Shanxi Vinegar
Delicious on a variety of foods, particularly noodle dishes and stir fries. Mix a little Thai chili paste with a couple tablespoons of this, and it makes even grocery store dumplings taste like mana. Pairs particularly well with garlic/ginger base, goes great with pork, broccoli, and anything covered in hoisin.Potent stuff. A lil' dab'll do ya'.

I will always have this in my kitchen cabinet
This is really hard to find, and worth the hunt!More smokey and mellow than other dark vinegars, it is excellent on everything! It is a bit expensive, but only because it’s a long production process and super high quality and rare in the US.

Terrible!!
Everyone says it’s delicious! BUT I DON’T!!! - Somehow my vinegar was bad! It tasted like a cheap ready to drink wine that had turned to vinegar! Oh, how gross. They wouldn’t even refund my money! Never again, I’ll still to my Balsamic Vinegar for my Asian dipping sauces.
