Urban Survival Guide (Outdoor Life)

I just got this book today, and have been skimming through it a bit. If you are an experienced prepper wanting an in depth guide, this is not the manual you are looking for. However, if you are new prepper living in the city, or just want a basic book that hits all the important points to throw in your BOB, then Urban Survival is a good choice. It has information on first aid, weapons, how to get out of a subway, riots, what to do if kidnapped, and more. As a nurse and former EMT I like the full color first aid illustrations. It's not the best survival guide, but it has good basic info to help you stay alive. Not bad for the price.

Mostly good advice. Too little coverage on some topics. Out of date info on CPR. Doesn't emphasize to get good training from competent professionals on first aid, CPR, & firearms. Covers losing a tail while driving, but not on foot. Covers first aid for shock but fails to mention calling for medical help. First aid here isn't "treatment". Doesnt address carrying important medical info (allergies, conditions, meds, & ICE contacts), securing phone. Does cover dealing with pirates, including repelling boarders of your boat. For URBAN survival. When is that going to ever happen? I call scope creep in that one.

PERFECT FOR THOSE TWEEN BOYS. PROMOTES READING, PROMOTES QUICK THINKING IN STRESSFUL SITUATIONS. GREAT CHRISTMAS GIFT FOR TWEEN BOYS..... MINE COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN DURING THE ENTIRE FAMILY CHRISTMAS GATHERING. EVERY TIME WE LOOKED FOR HIM, HE WAS SITTING LOOKING AT THIS BOOK. I RECOMMEND IT FOR EVERY TWEEN BOY.........YOU DON'T HAVE TO LIVE IN THE COUNTRY TO KNOW HOW TO HANDLE YOURSELF IN ANY SITUATION.

This was a great gift for my husband. He said "I really like this book. Lots of great information. It's a good read." So, I'm very happy that he's enjoying his gift.

Fabulous Book on Urban Survival in these strange times we are living in now!

If anyone is reading message these are not some crazy survivalist manual,but is great reference material for average individual to use for every day life this what they written for. thank you for having this in stock.

great read, some overlap info from the other books in this series by outdoor life. but a goose read, i crushed it in about 2.5 hours.

great book for new preppers or families good info ,not to in depth though,many great tips ,some not worthy.not a reference book Ill keep.

It's sad we have to read a book like this.It starts with first aid, and continues with other technics how can you increase your chances in tricky situations - eg. what to do in case of a tear gas attack. A different level of first aid in a sense.Don't read it as a bedtime story...

This is really a book of common sense, but if there is a Zombie Apocalypses then you are covered. Written in a easy style and well laid out with lots of illustrations it is a little light on content which is why i gave it 4 Stars.

A nice spread of information in one book, and rounded corners of pages make it easier to stuff into pockets and pouches.

There's very little information in here. Not really with the time and money to buy it.
