Solid little lighter.
A nicely made, weighty and easy to operate lighter that comes in a smart little cardboard presentation box.Filling and adjustment are as simple as you'd expect of any refillable lighter with both being done via its base. The cigar punch extends out to the edge of the lighter body so doesn't have to be opened with a finger nail. It is sharp, precise and its sprung hinge has a solid, positive feel to it. The spring-loaded lid/cigar rest is nicely finished in a hatched pattern, is approximately 18mm wide and snaps open & closed with a positive click.Ignition is achieved with a single downward movement of the ingiter which requires very little effort to operate. The gas level window displays as pink when low or empty and red when full.A great little lighter and lovely to use.

A very stylish and reliable jet lighter
The media could not be loaded. I like lighters and have collected quite a few (too many really, but hey, it's a hobby). I use them for camping & bushcraft, lighting barbeques in the garden and candles around the house.I have many types of lighters, Zippo's, kerosene lighters, sailors lighters, arc lighters and butane lighters. This is a review of my latest triple jet, butane lighter from Maxfire. The pros:It arrived quickly and came in a presentation box, which is good if you wanted to give it as a present.Appearance? It looks great! I like the brushed steel alloy finish.Build quality? It feels solid and seems well made from durable materials; I think it will last a long time.It lights the first time you spark it, every time. Believe me, I've had quite a few that don't!It is refillable, which I think is better than disposal lighters. The lighter has the usual flame adjuster on the bottom, along with the refill valve, which allows you to set the size of flame you want. You can direct the flame downward, which allows you to ignite a candle or a camping stove easily whilst keeping your fingers out of the way. There is a small window on the tank that lets you see how much fuel you have left.It has a cigar punch on the bottom, but as I don't smoke, I won't be using it.The Cons:I haven't found one yet!On the whole, I am pleased with the latest addition to my collection.

Not as good as other Maxfire lighters
So about two years ago I had the kind of brass-looking Maxfire lighter, the more cylindrical one. I rated it so much that I bought another when I lost the first one. The thing was solid, reliable, looked great.I needed another to keep in my backpack and I ended-up choosing this one instead because it looked cool. So here are some pros and cons comparing the two:Pros -. It has the dial for adjusting the flame height on the bottom that can be turned with your thumbnail. Not as heavy as the 'brass' Maxfire Lighter. Looks more modern and a bit 'cooler' in my opinion. You can see how much gas is left (roughly) through a small port on the front. Gas seems to last a bit longer. Flame is significantly higherCons -. The pin keeping the flip lid does occasionally like to attempt to come out when the lid is up. The slide/button for igniting the lighter has started to stick down, only releasing after giving it a flick. The triangular heat guard (I assume is ceramic) has broken apartThe ceramic may be my fault for dropping it so often, but I never had any of these problems with the aforementioned 'brass' lighter that Maxfire do.It's a bit disappointing, but what felt like an improved lighter leads me to believe that it's not built with the same standards in-mind.It's a great lighter for sure, and has helped me with a lot of other things and not just smoking (soldering, heatshrink, melting etc.), but for the price I wish I had bought another one of the brass-styled lighters that Maxfire make.

Good product . But little scratch
Feels very nice and good quality but unfortunately has a little mark on bottem (scratch) I won't be sending back as too much hassle but will have to apologise to the person receiving this as a gift which is slightly annoying

Looks deceiving
I've bought 3 of these lighters last 6 months, one lasted 4 months then broke, 2nd I've still got but it's manually flipped lighter design and 3rd one just broke I purchased in July so about 6 weeks ago so whilst they look fantastic feel fantastic in the hand and should last years they're actually not as good as described

Cheap and cheerful and well made!
Was looking for a new lighter that wasn't too costly to keep in my work bag and this was spot on. Having a built in cigar rest and a hole punch cutter was a bonus!
