Had this machine about 4 months now, and can honestly say it's the machine i was hoping it would be. I was on the fence weather or not I could justify buying a fully automatic coffee machine, when a french press sort of does the same thing for less than a tenner. But i love it! And i have no buyers remorse! It's been well used over the last 4 months now by the whole family and freinds etc. Everything from latte's to capachino's, to just a good big hot mug of americano. It just works and takes seconds to dial in to your liking. We have a slightly cheaper delongi semi-automatic at work and although it makes a decent anough tasting coffee, there's things i never liked about it, but the philips addressed them all. For instance, the delonghi wouldn't make the coffee hot enough for my liking, nor would it fill a mug if i wanted to. Also when the water ran out the tank half way through making your coffee, you'd have to throw it away then refil the tank and start again. The philips on the other hand, pauses when it runs out of water and waits for you to fill it up then resumes..nice! Also the coffee is plenty hot enough if you want it. A couple clicks of the buttons and you make a coffee for a small mug or large, lots of milk of just a tad, strong or weak, Just what takes your fancy at the time and the philips takes care of the rest. Not to mention the philips just IMO a better looking machine for the kitchen worktop, it just has a quality about it that some machines I don't think offer. As for the noise, (again comparing it to the delonghi at work) the philips seems a touch quiter, overall pretty quite i'd say. Cleanin is honeslt a doddle..maybe even one of the best features of a fully automatic machine, is there's very little in the way of cleaning. Just whack the used grinds in the bin and gove a rinse under that tap. That's it! The french press took more work for just 1 cup! The automatic milk frother does a great job at making latte's and capachino's. The machine is pretty quick at knocking out coffe's, latte's too. We've had an occasion when we had around 10 people visiting and the machine kept up better than any coffee shop! So to sumerise...no cons I can think of! It just really is a good machine! Honesly comparing it to a starbuks or costa etc. i'd say I like my philips better! Sure it's not done with a speacial grinder and a super high pressure machine etc..but it's coffee i've tuned in to MY liking, and I think that's what really counts. So dont hesitate! Enjoy!

This is my forth fully automatic bean to cup coffee machine. The first which dates back some 20 years ago was a bit of a novelty and made "so so" coffee. My second from around 12 years ago was an improvement but was a bit of a pain to use, particularly awkward to clean. My third, a Jura E8, was a dream to use, made great coffee and worked smoothly everytime. Unfortunately it broke down a couple of months ago. My first instinct was to replace it with the same make and model, but discovered they were now priced at over £1500 (I originally paid around £800 for it 6 years ago). So I read some reviews of other machines currently on the market and I thought I'd take a punt with this Philips 4300 series. So glad I did. It makes brilliant coffee with lots of personal configuration options to meet individual personal tastes. Its easy to use and to clean. In fact its cheaper to maintain overall. The milk dispenser/frother system is a revelation, way less hassle than even the Jura's system.....but just as effective. The only slight downside is that it holds a little less water in the resevoir, so needs filling more often. But hey it costs a third of the price of the E8 and takes up less space on the kitchen worktop. I'm just so pleased. This has got to be my best purchase so far this year.

it's like 6 months since I got it and it's been just perfect ever since. looks professional, makes great coffee (if you give it good beans of course!), is a bit loud but not as loud as many other ones can get.. but it literally made me love coffee once again. the milk attachment is very easy to clean and doesn't have any pipes inside so even if I forget to store it back in the fridge when it still has some milk (oops!), then cleaning it is just as easy as using a sponge and then rinsing. great value for this price

There is loads to like - easy to set up, easy to work out different drinks, everything is on the screen so you know exactly what is missing - like water etc. Comes with a water filter which is great as well! I got discouraged at the beginning as the coffee didn’t taste to what I expected. But run few coffees first once you get it… and then try and try again to get the right setting. Although feels annoying at first you can definitely get your coffee just perfect for you as you can adjust coffee strength and amount and amount of milk. The only, small, downside to the machine is the volume of the coffee. Most of my mugs are fairly big - not massive though! And I tend to make a drink and then add either more coffee or milk to fill up the cup. So it’s not really one button job. However, this me being ultra lazy! I love the coffee it produces! I’ve gone through several coffee machines, read millions of reviews and very happy that I chose this one in the end! If you are a bit of a coffee snob you won’t be disappointed with it!

Very noisy, but worse it does not make good coffee. We decided to replace our old machine after more than 20 years. This one is not as good and it's new. The coffee is of inconsistent strength. The crema on black coffee is gone in seconds. The hopper badly designed we have to put the coffee towards the grinder by hand. I could not recommend it at all. We are going to return it as we have tried everything and are yet to get a decent cup of coffee. Very poor item, I would not buy anything by Phillips again. A huge disappointment.
