Well written and insightful
I'm a big fan of history in general and WWII in particular. Although I watch a lot of documentaries on WWII, "Adolf Hitler: A Life From Beginning to End" provided details and insight into the psyche of Hitler in a nuanced and accessible way that I've never experienced before. I definitely learned more about Hitler and WWII in details that other sources have either overlooked or perhaps just didn't find important enough to mention, which is a bit of a shame. I highly recommend this e-book.

Brief Look at the Most Evil Dictator
A good long article, masquerading as a book. Doesn't tell a lot I didn't already know from reading books short and long by Paul Johnson. Interesting reading about the siblings and the discussion of parents' religious beliefs. Not interested in reading a more in depth look. Recommended for World War II history buffs. Also details danger of Totalitarianism.

Good book about a terrible person
A concise book about the ability of an evil yet charismatic leader can subvert a large amount of a population to commit atrocities.

Decently told and brief
I only bought the book to try to understand, the late dictator's childhood and facts that are obscure to me such as why he came to power and why so many people supported him. It is alarming how much the Deutch mark was cheapened against the US Dollar amid Germany having to pay harsh reparations from the prior World War and the Depression the world was experiencing then, but it is evident that the German people certainly wanted change. Still, I don't think this is a great excuse to elect and foster such a party and man, but then, I didn't live in Germany during those times. Anyway, I wanted there to be more detail about his childhood, but I guess I'll have to move on to another biography...

Mad dogs chase their own tails
Between 1939 and 1945, the SS, with the assistance of collaborating governments and recruits from occupied countries, killed at least 11 million people, including between 5.5 and 6 million Jews, some two-thirds of the Jewish population of Europe. Killed also were between 200,000 and 1,500,000 Romani people. In addition to exterminating the Jews, the Nazis instituted a plan to reduce the population of their conquered territories by 30 million people. The plan called for starving people to death by diverting food supplies to the German army and German civilians, razing cities, and allowing the land to return to forests or to be resettled by German colonists. Their partially realized plans resulted in the deaths of an estimated 19.3 million civilians and prisoners of war, including the deaths of nearly 2 million Polish citizens and over 3 million Soviet prisoners of war, Communists, homosexuals, and physically and mentally disabled persons. When these deaths are added to the war casualties, over 60 million people, or 3% of the world’s population, died during World War II.

Compact book, not a wasted word.
This book by Hourly History certainly serves its objective of giving readers a concise introduction to Adolf Hitler's life. There are far too many tomes about World War 2 as well as Hitler himself and it is easy to get lost in the details of the time. So its rather refreshing to read a compact book that gives a layout of the man's life. Yet, there are some periods of Hitler's life that are given more attention than others - I really enjoyed reading about the time he spent in WWI and the things he learnt there, it gives quite a bit of insight into his future persona. I missed reading similar detail about the later part of his life, especially during WWII, which is summarized a little too quickly so that the last 10 years of Hitler's personal life/ thoughts remained unclear. It would have been good to read how he responded to some of the biggest battles of WW2 and the way some of those failures led to his mental imbalance. Eva Braun is mentioned only in one line, and that aspect of his life could have been elaborated upon somewhat too. Of course, that would have led to a 1.5 hour book not a 1 hour one! In all fairness, it is very hard to compress the life of such a historically relevant and larger than life personality into an hour's read, and I don't think I would have ever picked up a tome on Hitler - just not my cup of tea. This book gave me a good insight into his personality, it is packed with information and hardly a word is wasted. I am going to read more books by Hourly History!

Interesting & sure is readable within the hour....
Adolf Hitler: A Life From Beginning to End (World War 2 Biographies)An intriguing read for anyone interested in history that don't have the time to read a detailed account, sure I've read specific accounts of the rise of Adolf Hitler, in fact the 'Night of the Long Knives' can cover many hundreds of pages. I actually proof read this book as my 11 year old son wanted to learn more about the second world war and how it came to be so reading about Adolf Hitler more or less gave him an insight into events that resulted in the outbreak of the war plus it gives him some understanding as to the decisions Adolf Hitler made.If you're after an in depth account then this book isn't for you hence the reason it's called hourly history, a reviewer overly exaggerates and states this is 2 pages long, well it isn't, around 52 pages and easily read within the hour, maybe slightly longer for younger readers.Even though this book is brief, it still ponders many questions on the thinking of the man that plundered the world into war, from the off set in the early 1920's, his plan was for war, the expansion of the Reich, reading Mein Kempf basically tells you what his plans were, why this wasn't picked up sooner by the Allies in the very early years is amazing, he basically wrote out what he was going to do.Overall, an enjoyable book, well written and ideal for my 11 year old to read.Happy to recommend.

Rememrable
Hitler would rather do odd jobs such as shoveling snow, or beating rugs instead of getting a regular job. Since he had no set income he was forced to move into the ghettos and became somewhat of a bum. He finally got a job painting postcards and advertisements. He had little money still, and spent most his time reading and thinking about what he read. While Hitler was in Vienna, he learned things which he later used to destroy the world. He learned that the finest thing for man to do was to conquer foreign countries, and that peace is a bad thing because it makes man weak. He was also convinced that Germans are the master race, even though he himself was Austrian. Hitler also took part in political ideas which were later used in Germany. He believed a political party must know how to use terror. He also discovered the value of appearance in politics. He thought only a man who could attract masses of people by his eloquence could succeed in politics. Hitler later became the greatest public speaker in Europe.

Great value
I recently came across a series of factual books by Hourly History on Amazon that are either very cheap or completely free. The books are reasonably short, perhaps an hour and cover the lives of famous people or events in history that you may wish to know more of. Always open to a bargain I decided to order 6 books of famous historical figures who had a major influence on the lives of many. I intend to read these books in an effort to learn more without getting completely submerged with facts and figures that I would personally find too tedious.I decided to begin with the life of Adolf Hitler, not an easy one to start with. The book somehow manages to cover his life in this relatively short read concisely and supplies a good knowledge of him. I anticipate that some of the books in this series will leave me wanting to know more about the subject and that is obviously possible by reading a more detailed account, but this one was just enough for me.

Brilliant but bad
This book is very well written and researched, obviously due to its short length it does not cover everything in huge detail but it provides a very good overview of Hitler, how he came into power and how he was subsequently removed.Obviously Hitler was a monster, however the legal and political way he got to be in control of Germany and how he manipulated people is extraordinary. He is often referred to as the most studied man in history and from just this brief overview you can see why.A brilliant book about a horrible person. Well worth a read.

INTERESTING
Could have been better if it was with flow of events as per dates. The writer has written with a critical approach only. It gives a picture that Hitler had done nothing good. It is not possible for a leader to take massive steps and still keep the followers to be with him. There must be something good that he did which kept the German Public to follow what he wanted to do.
