You'll be the envy of the neighborhood.
WOW! I am so glad I purchases this. I was super skeptical and browsed several different brands / models. I looked up several install videos on YouTube and did a ton of research and I am glad I went with this. This is not an easy DIY install. I managed to install these alone (with some MacGyvering), but would recommend at least two people... I did not install the electrical connections in the ceiling myself, and had an electrician do it (and would recommend you do the same). But I did assemble the lights and used the Goslarlit suspension kit (I would seriously recommend that along with this as well). The suspension lines makes the install way easier, and give you wiggle room for small measurement errors that can accumulate when you're trying to have it all line up perfectly. The kit provides a ton a extra materials in case you break something or there's a manufacturer error. There was at least one extra for every kind of piece in the kit which was very considerate! My biggest concern from the other reviews was about the brightness and these NOT being dimmable. I was pretty concerned about it... but after having these now for a couple of weeks, it's not unbearable at all. Don't get me wrong, these are VERY bright, but that's what I wanted. And the biggest point I want to make is it's not going to strain your eyes or be uncomfortable... it will just be like you can see EVERYTHING perfectly in your garage!Last note: I'll see how this hold up over time. I will be so bummed if I have to replace these. Like I said the install was not super easy... but it was so worth it. I've gotten at least 4 people who walked by my garage when it was open and had to come inside and see them.

Better than I expected! Icing on the cake for my garage
So I installed these lights as part of a complete garage makeover. I always wanted a fancy “showroom style” garage, and finally had the time to build one. After looking around at various options, I decided to install Hexagon lights from Goslarlit. I like having a lot of light when I’m working in the garage or detailing my cars, and these lights are *AMAZING*! The color temperature is a perfect match for actual daylight. When the lights are on, it really does look like daylight in the garage. Just what I wanted. I highly recommend painting the ceiling a dark color like I did - Really makes the lights “pop”!I think it’s safe to say that installing these lights takes a bit of thought and a bit of time if you’re a perfectionist. I played around with the design layout of the lights on the ground, mocking up different designs to see what they would look like. When I was satisfied with the design, I took measurements on the ground, then snapped chalk lines on the ceiling as a guide to keep things nice and straight. Based on my testing and observation, I think it’s best to suspend (hang) the lights from the ceiling versus mounting them directly to the ceiling. Basically each long straight piece is a ‘straight-edge’, but ceilings aren’t perfectly straight, especially where the drywall joints are. Imagine trying to get a line of yardsticks to lay down perfectly on a wavy surface. By suspending the lights slightly below the actual ceiling, you avoid such problems, and I think it looks better that way anyway. Mine are suspended about 2 inches from the ceiling. When the lights are on, they seem to just float in the air, because you can’t see the thin wires I used to suspend them.Because these lights are so bright, I ended up setting them up with 2 ‘zones’ of lighting. If you look at my pics, you see there is a long straight piece that runs the length of the garage and splits off like a huge “T”. That is one zone, and automatically turns on via a motion sensor. It generates plenty of light in the entire garage for normal use. The 2nd zone is the actual hexagons themselves. I turn them on manually via a switch whenever I need full lighting in the garage. All in all, it probably took me a good 3 days or so to get the lights fully installed including the planning, install, wiring and stuff. I wasn’t in a rush and wanted the end result to look ‘perfect’ from my point of view. My only criticism is that they aren’t dimmable for some reason. Ideally, I could see myself wanting to dim them occasionally. So far, they have been 100% problem free. I *HIGHLY* recommend these lights if you want a ‘modern’ look for your garage. It’s really cool that technology makes things like this possible!

Spectacular Light Fixture
This is a spectacular light fixture. I have used two different sizes (5 grid and 15 grid) and was equally impressed with both of them. They are lightweight, easy to assemble, simple to install, and very bright (I struggled to find fixtures bright enough to light a commercial application but the 5 grid lit the space amazingly.) Additionally, they are beautifully designed fixtures good for installation locations beyond garage applications. I would highly recommend this fixture.I did find a few installation tricks to make the process more efficient.1) Follow the diagram included in the instructions to make sure all the design fits together correctly. The diagram is color coded for ease.2) Locate your optimal power locations and lay out the fixture accordingly.3) When inserting the led tubes into the connectors, fit the plastic top of the tube in first and then swing the bottom in second. This allowed for the most efficient fitting.4) As noted in the instructions, if any tube/connector combination gives resistance, just try a different connector. You do not need to use force to get them connected.5) For the larger fixture, I assembled the hexagons individually and then fit them together on site. To get the fixture installed around the garage door opener, I assembled that grid in place.6) In installed the grid outline first, which allowed me to center the hexagonal grids in the correct location.7) To install to the ceiling, I used two different methods. For the 5 grid, I attached cables to the ceiling and connected those cables at each junction point using the included zip ties. For the 15 grid, I attached eye hooks to the ceiling studs and then attached the zip ties. It is really quite simple, but two people are required.8) To connect to the power source, I wired a plug onto the end of the power source and simply plugged them into an outlet.9) Total time for assembly and installation was about 2 hours for the 15 grid and about 1 hour for the 5 grid.10) I assembled these as singular fixtures but with a creative eye, you could install the 15 grid fixture a 3 separate lights.Lastly, this vendor was incredibly responsive and helpful in assisting me with the product. Again, I could not have been any more pleased with both of these fixtures and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a modern, bright fixture.
