Clean but ove- the-head of a 6 year old
I wanted to love this book. My daughter is 6 and she is really into "learning" the jokes. Although there are some good ones (I highlighted them so I can read only those to her without bothering with the ones that are over her head or just dumb), there are also some not funny ones or the ones that fly over her head. The knock knock jokes in this book are just not that good. Maybe an older kid would get them but by than those jokes wouldn't be funny. I'm disappointed overall. I don't expect to like every single joke in a book but I found myself spending more time explaining and not enough time laughing with my daughter. If I found it in a brick and mortar store and flipped trough I wouldn't have bought it. Sample of a good joke: What do bakers read to their children at night? Bread time stories. Why are Toothfairies so smart? They gather lots of wisdom teeth. What program do cows watch on TV? Moo-vies. Example of a dumb (not funny joke): How do you know when there's a dinosaurus under your bed? YOur nose touches the ceiling. What happened to the wizard who brushed his teeth with the gun powder? He kept shooting his mouth off. What do cannibals eat for breakfast? Buttered host. We'll try the book again in a year or two and maybe we'll enjoy it more. I'm giving it 4 stars because maybe it's just us that don't have a sense of humor?

Really Silly
Kids' Silliest Jokes My 4 year old started trying to tell jokes. Needless to say they weren't funny and didn't make sense. So I thought I would get a book of children's jokes for him to learn. Many of the jokes in this book go over his head. Maybe when he gets a little older he will get it. They are pretty silly. I'm pretty sure you will only laugh because it's your child telling the joke. But isn't that the kind of joke we all started out telling? Sure!

Silly is the word...and funny too!
I purchased this for a 5 yr old but I am holding back on giving it to him for another year or so. The jokes are great but I think an older child will appreciate them more. The jokes cover a multitude of subjects and will bring back memories of telling or hearing these funny things when you were a kid. If you have a 2nd or 3rd grader, I am sure this collection will go over big!

Grade School aged
We gave this to our 5yo son for xmas and I think it's written more for a school aged child... 7 and up for sure. But he does understand some of the jokes. It's cute and he will definitely grow into it.

Disappointing
Bought this for one of my son's Christmas presents, it was backordered and didn't show up until Feb. All that waiting, and when we finally got it, my little jokester started reading the book...and after every single joke, he'd say "That wasn't funny." or "I don't get it."Every page is full of such gems as:What movie do tigers watch? "Claws Encounters of the Furred Kind". (swing and a miss - what kid is going to get a reference to a 70's sci fi film??)Who does Clark Kent turn into when he takes a shower? Soaperman. (uh...really?)How did the pancake hurt itself? Doing backflips. (*crickets chirping*)I guess it would be fine for some kids who like "groaners" and bad puns, but if your kiddo has a developed sense of humor, definitely skip it. In fact, skip it if you even want them to develop a sense of humor.

For kids older than 5
I got this for a very bright 5 year old, and there are a few jokes she can "get" right away, but most require too much explanation before she can get it, if then... it's really for kids several years older -- with a larger working vocabulary.

Good for a reluctant reader
My 8-year old son doesn't love reading so I got him this book hoping the jokes would hook him in. It worked! The jokes are short and funny (in a cheesy kid-friendly way).

Joke books for Kids
My grandson is nine years old and has expressed a desire to be a comedian, so I thought I'd support him by buying him a joke book. He liked it very much. I read it and thought it was perfectly appropriate for a young person his age. I'm glad I bought it. We are both enjoying memorizing the jokes and then springing them on the family.
