A high quality sharp knife at a reasonable price.
The media could not be loaded. I have quite a few more expensive knife brands such as Wustoff, Shun, etc. and have been finding that some of the less expensive brands are every bit as good and sometimes better. So often the cost of a knife is determined by name rather than quality.I recently decided I needed a new paring knife, and decided to try this Misen knife since I have read some good reviews about this brand. I bought it in blue so I could easily identify it from my other knives. Since I have so many knives, I have learned what to look for in a quality knife. The angle of the blade and the materials used are all important considerations in choosing a knife that will hold the sharpness for a reasonable time (all knives need sharpening eventually). In addition the tang and the weight help in the comfort in using the knife. So, what do I like about this knife?1) As small as this knife is it has some weight to it that makes it more comfortable to hold.2) The tang of the knife is curved which make it easier to hold.3) This knife was super sharp out of the box.4) The blade on this knife has the Asian 15 degree angle which is much sharper than the Euro blades of 20 degrees. This angle can be more delicate and dulls more quickly than the wider Euro blade, but I prefer the sharper blade.5) The blade is made of AUS-10 steel which keeps the blade sharper longer. AUS10 steel is a high-carbon stainless steel known for its toughness, good level of hardness, and easy sharpening. It’s deemed as the strongest among the AUS series steel grades.6) You won't beat the price for this quality. As for so many products, keeping up with current technology can be difficult. This is also true of knives and the metal compositions currently used to maintain sharpness and the quality of the blade. In my experience, the 15 degree angle of the the blade and the AUS-10 steel provides qualities rivaling the more expensive knives in addition to other qualities mentioned previously. Although one reviewer described the Japanese knives to be brittle, I have a number of high end Japanese knives and haven't found this to be the case.I have used this knife to cut a few different vegetables, but the tomatoes are the most impressive. This knife can cut thin slices on even ripe tomatoes without squashing them.At this point, I am impressed and entirely happy with this knife and plan to buy more knives of this brand. I hope this review was helpful for you and I will update this review if my opinion changes.

Its Japanese steel, so brittle but very very wickedly sharp
You cannot beat the build quality for the price with Misen. I've bought several knives for gifts and they were well received. Just have to remember that this is a Japanese knife with a steep grind angle compared to german / french knives; the steel is really hard...equals VERY sharp but also brittle so don't throw them. As long as you follow the instructions that come with (in its very nice gift quality packaging) it'll last you ages. Did i mention just how razor sharp these knives are out of the box?!?

This is an excellent little knife.
This is an excellently-made little knife. It’s well balanced and the handle is comfortable for a wide variety of kitchen/cooking tasks. It came out of the box with an extremely sharp edge. I haven’t needed to sharpen it yet, so I can’t speak to that yet; maybe I’ll update this review in a few days. But so far so good, especially for the price.

Finally, a quality paring knife in my kitchen
I have been using old, cheap paring knives for years. Lately I've acquired a good bread knife and a very nice boning knife. This Misen is a great addition to the arsenal. I'm no great chef, just a guy who does some cooking, but I've come to appreciate having a decent, sharp knife. This one does the trick, and at a price point I could handle. I'm completely satisfied with it. Also, it arrived two days earlier than promised, which is always nice. Very pleased with Misen, and may be purchasing from them again soon.

Worth Every Penny! Sturdy, Sharp, and Elegant!
I recently purchased this knife and I have been thoroughly impressed with every aspect of it! Firstly, the packaging it came in was both simple and professional. When I removed it from the box, I noticed its sturdiness almost immediately. It fits perfectly in my hand and it effortlessly cut through a variety of fruits and vegetables. I won't hesitate to recommend this product to any of my friends and family - an absolute steal especially at the price!

Even better than my expensive knives
Somehow my 2 "top of the line" paring knives probable were inadvertently thrown in the garbage. I think I saw this knife on Pinterest and decided to take a chance. This knife is well balanced, sturdy and very very sharp. I cut small tomatoes perfectly with no pressure. Same with onions and garlic (paper thin slices). It's half the price of my lost knives and I like it so much better. Great sharp knife!

Very sharp!
This is a great paring knife. Beware, it is super sharp. Both my husband and I sliced our fingers the first time we used it. Sturdy and high quality. Will pay attention next time to avoid further injuries.

I should give myself a penny
This paring knife is just perfect! Very ergonomic and...sharp! One has to remind oneself that you are using a new... very sharp knife. It will make your cutting more precise. A -1, do recommend.
