Great startup product

A decent enough tool for the price, but in an attempt to be universal, they failed to properly fit any tool. I used a dremmel and had to add a ton of spacers to get it to fit with mine, but once you find a way to attach it to whatever tool you may use, it does seem to do the job!

Overall the principle of this device is sound and the quality of materials is OK, but here is my experience with it. I have a fairly new version of the Dremel hand held tool. This model has the nose piece that is removeable and under normal operation is used to hold the hex head of the tool so attachment pieces can be inserted in the collet. This electrode grinder first requires that the grinding wheel holder piece be placed into the Dremel collet and tighened using the hex wrench instead of the aforementioned nose piece. Some here have mentioned cutting a slot to access the hex nut, which I can see would work, but if you work with the assembly upside down it can be done without a slot. Now the main body piece with the various angle holes in the perimeter is screwed onto the Dremel tool utilizing the nose piece thread (3/4 diameter threads). Next the diamond grinding disc can be attached to the previously installed holder. No problem so far. With all the peices installed I found that the electrode, 3/32 and 30 degree in my case, point did not end up on the top of the grinding disc, but was more on the edge or even a little below the edge of the grinding disc. Long story short, I ended up adding about .150 inch thick washer under the main body of the tool to raise it up on the Dremel tool threads. That works perfectly, so with that modification it's a good tool at a reasonable price but don't be surprised if you have a similar problem getting it to work properly.

The diamond wheels don't last long. The attachment doesn't fit snug, so I have it taped a couple threads away from bottoming out.Sucks

Took a few moments to set up but did well on grinding angles. If you leave it set up repetitive use is instant. Obviously when regrinding a used piece of Tungsten the end has to be ground down to enter the hole in the tool.

I saw the other reviews on its difficulty to setup and understood exactly what they meant but also reasoned for the price it shouldn't be much to resolve. So I find its as described by other folks so my solution was I simply cut a window out of it (crude as it is it works fine) with a dremel and cutoff wheel on the short side, and an electric hacksaw on the long side. I could have taken a 1/2" end mill in my drill press and an x-y vise and made it more presentable (even got better machinery which I don't own or I would've) but I don't tig weld that much so its perfect for me as is. The arbor fits best and is at the right height with it pushed into the chuck all the way down to its shoulder. I found to get my wrench in a position to completely tighten the chuck I just unscrewed the tig sharpener a few degrees until I could get the wrench on the chuck no big problem there. Then I put the grinder wheel on top of the arbor and installed the screw. fwtw I am using a cheapo variable speed multi tool from Oreilleys and the grinder disc was in the perfect position when it was all said and done. I was told by a guy years ago who tig welds a lot to avoid the tungsten grinders and just use a 3" harbor freight bench grinder which I have used for years. But for grins I thought about trying one since this price was reasonable and I have to say it really does work ok! I am now cutting the tip off now in the cutoff slot in the tool and dressing a fresh end now rather than grinding the melted filler material etc off the tip on the little hf bench grinder in order to sharpen it, and using the highest speed works the best. So imo if the manufacturer takes notice they could seriously improve this tool very easily w/o much expense. hth

Installing it on my harbor freight dremel seem to work just fine. The hole could be a little tighter to the electrodes. i would have to compare it to other brand to know if the angles are correct.
