I mostly love this hat. Shipping container left much to be desired. More on that later.I ordered an "X-Large" based on what other buyers mentioned. I measured the 'ol noggin which is 22 1/2". I usually take a size 7 3/8 hat and the X-Large seems a perfect 7 3/8". I keep my hair fairly short so if you have more hair maybe go a size larger.This is a well made hat of good quality leather. An excellent buy. - - The hat was shipped in one of those white, over sized plastic/paper envelopes which begged being crammed into mail bags and boxes during shipment. So my hat arrived with a diagonal crease across the top front and one side was sort of crushed and folded over inside the bag. It does not look even like int the picture because of the way it was shipped. It should have been in a protective more rigid container. I am hoping the crease and misshapen left side evens out. Right now, it looks lop sided and not happy with that.

My favorite hat. Let me begin by saying I have one of those odd hat sizes that most hats never feel right on. I can walk into a hat store, try on every hat in there, and walk back out with an old baseball cap.Measuring myself, I wrapped a tape measurer around my forehead and came up with 23”. I got the large sized hat and it fits like a glove. I hope that helps.I’ve owned leather hats before (cowhide) and they’re pretty much useless in the summer. They’re heavy, hot and most are not even lined. They end up pooling sweat around the band until you move it and then all that sweat runs down your face and over your glasses. Kind of defeats the purpose of wearing a hat at all.The deerskin on this hat is light, soft, and the lining catches all of the perspiration issues. It is also vented on the sides to allow breathing. Mine was shipped in a plastic bag and like some of the complaints here, had creases in it. They quickly came out once I put it on though, so I’m not sure what all the issues were with that.This hat does not adjust so the biggest issue in ordering it, is to get one that fits well. Once you do, though, you’ll love it!

Fit and finish is awesome on this hat. I am a fan of pub style hats and have wanted a leather one for a long time. This one fits well, looks great, and smells of leather goodness. I am a 30+ year old male and the hair is starting to fall like the leaves in fall. I have decided to buzz cut my hair and save the money at the barber since there is 50% less hair to cut and it looks like crap anyhow. Now I wear a lot more hats and this one goes well with my aging dad bod. Time will tell how it holds up but initial reaction is that I made the right decision. Make sure you measure your mellon and order based on the size you measure. Don't guess or you could be disappointed.

I ordered two insulated hats of this same style from the same manufacturer. Both were the correct size as per their size chart, however, the depth on one was too shallow and the hat would pop off. I kept one and sent one back. I ordered another insulated hat thinking maybe one was just odd. The third one I got was right in-between the first two. I measured the depth, and sure enough, they were different! I purchased the third as a gift to a bald person, so it might be okay. If it was for me (with hair), I would need to send it back. This hat here (not insulated) fits perfectly in regard to size and depth. However, I lucked out by re-checking the size chart. The size charts for their hats are different! Pay close attention and do not assume that every hat from the same company uses the same sizing chart!. For this hat, I had to order a XL, for the insulated hats, I had to order a L. All were from the same company. In regards to quality, they are good quality, however, the depth concern needs better quality control. One reviewer had the depth problem with this particular hat here, but I ordered it anyway hoping that I might get a good one. I did. Just lucky , I guess.

Love the fit, construction, and quality of the materials. The leather is good quality and supple. The hat band is triple stitched and has just the right amount of very thin padding. The liner is cotton and looks good with the rest of the hat, providing only a slight contrast... although I think solid black would have been better . There is no padding under the liner, which was what I was hoping for... since I don't like it when my head overheats in a hat I'm only looking to provide light to moderate protection. I take a 60 cm diameter size and this hat fits perfectly. One demerit for the gaudy metal tag that is stapled through the hat, piercing the leather outer along the hat band on the left side. You can remove it, but then you're left with two vampire marks in the leather which cannot be mended. Overall a terrific value.

Hat looked and felt fine. However, I ordered 7 to 7 1/8 which is S/M usually in the USA. Mfg shipped L which was too large. Mfg stated when I enquired that they believe L to be 7 to 7 1/8 and that their sizes went up from there. I measured the hat prior to returning it and the actual diameter was 8". While the hat looked nice, you have to be lucky to get one that will fit since their sizes are non standard.
