Disappointed! This kit is well packaged but the pump ...
Disappointed! This kit is well packaged but the pump is grossly underpowered. It works well from about 11am to 3 pm but the motor only makes noise the remainder of the daylight hours. And we have lots of sunshine here. I believe that they should have used another bank of solar cells in the panel; or perhaps I have a defective pump.I also bought the Patuoxun 9V 1.8W Solar-Power Water Pump, which was not as well packaged as the Solarrific G3035, but costs half as much . The Patuoxun pump works amazingly well, operating hours before and hours after the air pump won't.

Solar, no batteries
In bright Sun it bubbles real nice. Overcast but bright it bubbles slowly. It does what it should.

If you can either reposition your pond or your panel to track sun ...
This pump works very well so far. However full sun is required without anything casting even the slightest shadow on it. Otherwise it needs to be repositioned minimally 3-4 times each day to track sun and keep it free of shadows. If you have a south facing spot that it can reach totally clear of any cast shadows it should work great for you.

worth the money
I love this unit. I haven't had it very long yet but so far it is proving to be a wonderful little unit for my pond. I have approx. a 10,000 gallon koi pond so it is very large considering the average pond but I didn't want to spend 600.00+ for a solar unit to accomodate. I have been successful 4 years with my large pond with the correct bacteria and a good variety of plants and oxygenators but I wanted to add some movement to the water. This is by far not large enough for my pond but it does add some movement and bubbles and the fish congregate around it so they love it. Soon as a cloud covers the sun it stops and immediately starts once the sun hits it again. If it is slightly overcast it will slowly bubble still yet. Key is follow the instructions! I have the pump higher than water level and covered with part of the rubber pond liner to keep it water proof as suggested. I am hoping to get years of use out of this and plan to buy a second for the other side of the pond this summer. Worth the money!

Worked for a month.
I purchased this in April,'14. Worked totally fine (when there is sunlight- this is a solar powered source only with no back up battery, so only works when the sun it out). I live in Arizona, so figured this would be a good solution to keep my small waterfall pond aerated during the obnoxious summer days (for my fish). After about a month I noticed it had stopped bubbling. I took it inside and noticed that the back plastic part of the solar panel had cracks (I imagine from the heat), and the pump had stopped working. It seemed like the pump was trying to work but for whatever reason just wasn't. I took the device apart and figure something was caught inside the motor, cleaned it out, got it to work, but the second I put everything back together the pump again would stop producing air. This is frustrating because I had only had it for a month before it stopped working, also there aren't replacement parts, so my only option would be to purchase a new one. No thanks,

A great solar pump for my 100 gallon patio pond!
I purchased this for our 100 gallon patio pond three months ago and it's working great! When in full and direct sunlight, it works like a little steam engine cranking out the bubbles. The fish love it and I like it because it gives some movement to the water. As others have stated, it really needs the benefit of full direct sunlight to work effectively. It still works somewhat on cloudy days, but at a much reduced rate. The only downside is that it doesn't have a battery backup. The cord from the solar panel to the motor is about eight feet long, allowing you to have a nice range of movement for placing the panel at an ideal spot near your fountain or pond. They also give ample tubing as well. I ended up cutting mine shorter to get rid of the excess.I would certainly recommend it! When this one stops working, I'll probably get one with the battery backup to ensure a more continuous flow for days that are cloudy.

Severe limitations for a pond (even a tiny one)
Works well but only in absolute direct sunlight which is impossible to accomplish with such a short cord between the solar panel and the pump. If your pond sits in total direct sunlight, (not indirect in the slightest) and the solar panel doesn't need to be much more than 5 feet from the pump, then this might work for you. It definitely DOES NOT work on an overcast day unless you consider a few micro bubbles every once in a while as working. My advice, spend the extra $20 and get their unit with the battery backup before your fish die. It also has a solar panel twice as big as the one in this kit.

Works great in direct full sunlight
Works great in direct full sunlight. Any kind of shade or passing cloud kills the air pump. I bought an electric air pump for fish pond and using this one in duckweed pond where aeration doesn't really matter.
