It's actually pretty convenient and fun, leaving it as a breakfast task for the kids to do and they love it. It even comes with a spare string for when this one gets too rusty to use.

I thought the string was broken, but when I watched the instructional video I discovered you have to try it without the egg first if the string does not retract, then it will work.It did work. It is too time consuming for large batches. If you have an only child or maybe two kids, it is ok so you don't waste the yolk. Was fun to try. But this product needs refinement to make it idiot proof and also for multiple eggs at once.

Simple and well built. The most important, it works. Spin the egg 80 pulls (Fast pull) and check it under flashlight as suggested in the guide. Works every time for me.

Do not buy this. Used it 8 times and it is falling apart. The top where the shaft goes into the cover rubs, plastic on plastic so it melted and now won’t spin. The bottom doesn’t stay together when you pull the string. Just a very cheap unusable product.

Used for the first egg, but did not mix 80 times as per the instructions, and the results were not great, so highly recommend following the instructions to the tee. I just don't think doing this to one egg is worth it if you're boiling many eggs.The mechanism that retracts the string broke after spinning my first egg about 40 times. You have to pull the rope very gingerly when it's almost fully extended or else it will break.The instructions mentioned not to pull it too hard, which is why I'm not asking for a refund, but in my opinion, for a 20 dollar item, it shouldn't be that easy to break.
