Myself & members of immediate family came from Europe. I speak German & English but not Polish. Polish is my Pappa's language. This is a great book to communicate with my Polish family. Thank You

This was helpful to me on my trip because it fit into my purse, contained basic information that I could obtain in a matter of moments. I used it on the plane as well as in the country.

I recommend Lonely Planet phrase books for ever foreign adventure. It's a lifesaver! They're broken down into easy to find subjects and the pronunciation breakdown is accurate.... unless it's Polish and then you can just point to what you want to say. I can hold my own with German but my American mouth just can't make Polish sounds.

I'm trying to brush up on some basic Polish conversation skills (phrases) - love this book for that! But I wouldnt recommend this as a Polish-English dictionary only (if that is what you need) because it doesnt have a lot of words in that section.

This was a handy book to have on my visit to Poland. Polish is not an easy language but the Polish people are very friendly and helpful and the trip went great!

I use this as a cross reference with my Pimsleur cds. I love how it gives the pronounciation next to each work.

I found it useful for specific words and phrases and by writing them down was able to get help. This language is very difficult for me -- so I was unable to say much -- but the book proved valuable.

Spent a week in Poland on holiday and this saved us! Especially when we were out of Warsaw. Managed to order food without ingredients, ask for set amounts of meat when buying groceries, and get rough directions to and from places!Excellent book, very easy to use and very useful!!

Great as a gift to anyone who is learning polish. Well structured. Consists of basic grammar and very useful phrases. It is small in size therefore easy to carry/review at anytime.

Very useful for a quick and easy to read guide to Polish grammar, alphabet and pronunciation with lots of extra information about the country and language plus phrases and simple dictionary all small pocket sized so can be carried around without much thought
