Nice fragrance, works reasonably well for my long curls.
ShampooI like the mainly natural version of this shampoo, so had to try it. Color safe is a bonus, not my first priority for shampoo. The shampoo is a beautiful pearly white, slightly thick, that emerges from the bottle easily. I massaged it in my hands a bit before applying to my hair, and found my normal amount is nearly too much for this one as it's quite rich. Less is more.It lathered nicely with a pleasant fragrance, and rinsed clean. My hair felt clean but not stripped afterwards, which is the optimal ending for a good shampoo.ConditionerAll the same goodness for the conditioner - label, color safe, all that. It's a very thick cream that came out with some heavy squeezing. I worked it through my longish curls and let it rest while I continued my morning cleanse, then used a wide tooth comb to detangle. (Detangling is the main goal for conditioner, with moisturizing a close second.) It worked ok, but not great. May not be the best if you're prone to your hair doing macrame in your sleep. Otherwise, quite nice.

Works well. Has a lovely scent that lasts
I have thin, slightly wavy hair that is currently colored with a permanent all-over color from a box. I have been using this shampoo for a little over a week and although it is too early to tell if this shampoo is protecting my hair color, overall I’m very happy with the results. My hair is clean, shiny, and manageable. Also, it smells amazing. Some shampoos smell great during the application but then the scent disappears, however with this shampoo my hair smells great for at least a whole day. The scent is light with tropical fruit and floral notes. The shampoo lathers well and a small amount goes a long way.

"Cleaner" Shampoo, But Could Do Better
As a Massage Therapist , the first thing I did when I got my license was to study the ingredients of the lotions I used on my clients. Boy, was that an eye opener! It took time but I found a company that made a 100% Organic and Natural product, despite what all the naysayers in the cosmetics world said. (They all claimed it was impossible to produce anything that would have a good shelf life without artificial stabilizers).Since then I have become pretty well read on ingredients. According to the Environmental Working Group, the average person puts 168 chemicals on their body every day. Think about that. The skin is your largest organ, and it absorbs most of those chemicals. So I'm always looking for "cleaner" products that give me a close-to if not identical result of the chemical laden products. While this Better Natured shampoo is a good start, there's SO much more they could do. First off, why put "fragrance/perfume" in a natural -based product????? For one thing, many people have sensitivities to those artificial scents. And you can always use essential oils or other natural products like coconut oil to achieve a similar result.Decyl Glucoside is a decent option as a surfactant (the thing that makes suds), but if you want to be "natural", Saponaria Officinalis Root Extract would be better. I think the reason many go for the former is that the average consumer expects lots of suds...which are not necessary for cleansing. So many companies cave to the pressure from the public to have a sudsy product.Other ingredients that they might have used to help offset the need for "science based" ingredients are Aloe Vera, Horsetail, Burdock, and nettle. That's just a start for things that could have been done better for a product like this. I DO applaud them for stating on the front of the bottle what is "science based" (aka, not natural). For that reason I only docked 1 star.As for how it cleaned? Well, I can't complain. I admit that while I try to avoid chemicals I do like my box-derived hair color. It's my one cosmetic guilty pleasure. This shampoo seemed gentle and cleaned well. Not sure why one person had a bad reaction but I'm going to guess they have a sensitivity to one ingredient that normally doesn't affect most people. It happens. The scent didn't do it for me. It wasn't horrid...just didn't appeal to me. Again, a nice essential oil would have been better. All in all, not a bad product. Price point is a bit high but that's normal for this type of product. You could most certainly do worse that this product.

Love this naturally-derived shampoo
After first use I noticed how my hair felt silky, more nourished and moisturized. The shampoo lathered well without stripping my hair of its natural oils. The smell is really nice, like a subtle tropical scent.

great cleaner, not sure it protects colored hair though.
i found this a little harsh in cleaning the scalp: and if you use nonpermanent coloring - that gets stripped out. i am using it to clean stands of my hair without the scalp clean and you will need conditioner. nice delicate fragrance.

Great!
My hair is currently dyed red and this shampoo works great for me. It does not strip my color and leaves my hair feeling soft and shiny.

Nope, nuh uh, do NOT recommend this at all
I HIGHLY persuade you not to attempt this product. The shampoo itself is great and it does the job well and makes my hair feel great, BUT (and it's a BIG but) it leaves sores and welts all over the top of my head. I have never, ever used a shampoo that did this to me. But my head itches, it's super sore and full of itchy sores after shampooing with this stuff ONCE. I have already trashed the remainder, but I cannot recommend this at all. The very opposite in fact. I am telling you NOT to use this. Do not. I do not have sensitive skin nor do I have a sensitive scalp and I have never experienced this before. Yuck. Yuck. Yuck.
