🎶 Elevate Your Bass Game with JOYO's Badass Amp!
The JOYO Badass Bass Mini Amp Head is a powerful 50-watt preamp hybrid tube amplifier designed specifically for bass guitars. It requires an external speaker cabinet (not included) to function, making it essential for users to purchase a compatible 4-ohm cabinet. Featuring a 12AX7 preamp tube, built-in compressor, 3-band EQ, Bluetooth connectivity, and a headphone jack, this amp head is perfect for both live performances and silent practice.

Cool low-cost amp with a great sound
The BaDass Bantamp bass amp is a small 50 watt bass amp with a tube preamp, 3 band EQ, built-in compressor and a bluetooth connection for jamming with tracks off your phone or some other bluetooth transmitter. The first thing to notice about the amp is it's size. It's even a little smaller than what you imagine, which makes it nice and portable. It's 50 watts, and with that, it makes for a great practice amp, recording amp, or even small coffeeshop gigs. You could get away with using it for bigger shows, but you'd want to mic the cab or use the headphones out for inserting into the PA.It does come with it's own power cord, which you'll want to hang onto, as it's got it's own 24V 3.0A DC power supply, which might be a tough find to replace at your local music shop. The amp also includes a footswitch for engaging the compressor. The amp does have great tone. While not terribly loud (not designed to be), I was able to dial in a great tone with the EQ. I did notice something with the EQ, which I noticed with another bantamp that I had -- the EQ sweeps are fairly subtle. You won't get a huge array of tones, but you will get a number of really good/usable tones. The preamp circuit does include a 12AX7 tube, which contributes to a nice warm tone in all settings. I was able to get that classic "rock" bass tone, which is SVT'ish in my opinion. What really surprised me was the compressor feature on this amp. The compressor does work as a compressor, but honestly, I found my favorite setting using the compressor at a higher setting, which when paired with a higher gain setting puts out a really nice, usable distortion. It's not a harsh distortion, just a tone that sounds like a cranked tube amp. With that setting, you can then use the footswitch more as a distortion on/off setting, which personally is more useful than switching on a compressor here and there. Conclusion: This is a small 50 watt bass amp. Will it drive an 810? not loudly. But is it a great choice for a practice amp or recording amp? absolutely. While tone is subjective, I do really dig the sound this amp makes and would recommend it to anyone looking for a small amp to pack on the road for practicing or getting together with friends for a low-volume jam.

Update on original review....Good little amp but failed in less than 4 months.
Warm sound, light weight, good compression circuit with foot switch. Requires a 4 ohm speaker for full power which might be a problem for most. I created a custom pigtail cable that parallels two 8 ohm speaker cabinets and was pleasantly surprised by the sound. I've been impressed with this little amp but it just failed after less than 4 months of occasional use. It definitely smells like an electronic component has failed.

Badass little amp, with caveats
I'm a big fan of Joyo pedals so I was excited to try out this bass amp. Plugged into a Fender 115 w/horn cabinet, it sounded great and shook the room. Feature-rich for it's very tiny size, and the green and black anodized casing it beautiful. The 12ax7 tube preamp is legit, with onboard switchable compression and (non-switchable) overdrive gain, threeband EQ, and effects loop. I have yet to try out the Bluetooth connection, but it is a nice feature to have. But who is this for? In my case I can see using it for non-loud practices, coffee shop duo gigs, and home practicing. With the Bluetooth and 1/4" headphone jack, this would be an excellent tiny practice amp to sit on the nightstand where the old alarm clock used to be before smartphones arrived. The unit is 24v DC powered with a rather cumbersome transformer brick that harkens back to the early days of Mac Mini computers. The most puzzling choice was the minimum 4 ohm speaker impedance.... The Joyo Bantamp claims 50 watts output at 4 ohms, but I would never own a 4 ohm cabinet again. All of my cabs have been 8 ohm in order to be stackable and matchable; I can only assume that Joyo has a 4 ohm cabinet that would pair with this unit. My cabinets being 8 ohms means that the power rating of the amp is cut in half to 25 watts, which takes away that extra bit of oomph that this amp could have had. Despite these two caveats, the price was reasonable for the novelty but could be a much better value with a different output impedance. Were it to have a matching 210 4 ohm cabinet I could see it being an awesome bedroom amp for the novice or amateur bedroom bassist, training with YouTube videos streaming from a tablet via Bluetooth. It is attractive enough to match any decor, and pets love it too.

Absolutely love it!
I love this little amp! Tried the meteor and the vivo before this one. Both were good but lacked the tone and crispness of the firebrand. Though it does have less bottom end than the others, it has enough. Doesn't get muddy when you muff the strings and will mix better with other instruments. OD has a nice range. I don't see it as a "one trick pony" as some reviewers did. Between pick up switch, drive, guitar volume, and right hand technique (unless you're lefty), you can get a nice variety of great tones. Every string comes through sweetly every way I've tried so far. If you're on a budget and need something affordable that can get the job done, look no further.

Nice addition to the BantAmp line. Amazing amp no matter what.
I actually have all of the Joyo BanTamPs - so far. I've decided to collect them and this one is a great addition to their line. Agree with another contributor that the lead tones of the Zombie and VIVO left a little to desired for an articulate high gain lead tone. This one has that fixed and then some. Very articulate highs. Makes me think of an ultra high gain Fender sound. I really like the cutting edge on the highs - no matter what gain you turn it up to. It reminds me of an Orange voicing on the upper mids and highs, but is instead very tight on the lows. Something I couldn't handle with Orange amps was too loose of lows. It is a bit more of a one trick pony with this kind of sound than even some of the other Joyo BanTamPs . The tone knob is quite limited. Still it has that effects loop and pedals can remedy that very nicely. I play these little suckers a lot. They are fun, sound great, completely worth it. And so far no problems with workmanship - seem solid...
