wonderful piano bench
I am very large and perhaps twice as heavy as a normal person and I regret to admit some of it is fat.I do have a substantial bottom. This bench is quite comfortable even for me. It is sturdy and I do notfear that it will break and fail to support me so that I take a disasterous fall. It is more than adequatefor two normal people to use at the same time and so would easily support a student and teacher. It is easy to adjust, opens for storage, and is quite attractive. At this price they might as well be giving itaway. I recommend it.

Great piano bench in value, size, quality, and appearance.
This bench was purchased to go with a Yamaha polished ebony piano. The bench looks great, even elegant! The bench is comfortable, somewhat more firm that I thought it might be since the top is 3" deep, but again, it is comfortable. It is plenty wide and stable for two people. The bench is sturdily built. Assembly is a snap; you just attach the legs using the supplied wrench. The under-seat storage is convenient though not as deep as one might imagine given the depth of the bench. The price is awesome for what you get. This is a great piano bench. It is by far the best bench for what I was looking for.

Worth the price
This is a BEAUTIFUL piano bench. It is very sturdy and heavy and the leather is high quality. I originally had the solo bench from this same company, but the less expensive version. It held up well but the leather was starting to show wear after 10 years. Now that I’m playing duets with my daughter, I ordered the comparable duet size, but canceled the order last minute and opted for the premium version. I am SO glad I did. The leather on this bench is far superior to my old bench and I am confident that it will last much better. By comparison, my old bench’s leather was almost crinkly and quite thin. This is thick, luxurious and very comfortable. It is definitely worth the upgrade.

Nice Piano Bench
This piano bench is just what I was looking for. Its size and weight are perfect. The storage compartment, although modest, fits my few necessary music books and scores. The top is a flat black looking leather and the frame is a high gloss black that exactly matches my piano. The padding feels to be on the heavier side of medium density foam, for now. I wanted stiff, based on my other 3 different benches starting out stiff and slowly wearing to light cushion softness over the years. This one should be my last bench, based on its sturdy design, and likelihood of just having the top reupholstered, if the foam eventually fails. Seems like a nice bench for the price.

Questionable
Would like to rate this product higher but product arrived damaged with a scrape and a hole in the “genuine leather” seat. The product arrived in an undamaged package, which means it was damaged prior to shipping. This is nice enough to give it another chance, so reordering upon complete refund.

I can’t believe how beautiful this bench looks!
Bench for a piano, very sturdy and extremely comfortable. A little pricey but worth every penny. Couldn’t be happier!

The review I wish I could have read before I bought this bench.
I have had this bench for a few days, and have used it for three 30-minute sessions. So I can’t talk to durability or wear over time. I also plan to condition the leather in the next couple of weeks, and will post pictures after doing so. With that being said, let’s get to it.Dimensions as measured:Seating area: 16” x 35”Height of movable portion of chair (i.e. leather-covered parts of bench top): 9.75”Interior storage compartment: 32.5” x 13.75” x 2.75”Seat height: 19” to 21.5”Let’s start with the basics. This bench is made in China, which is not the red flag that it once was. I just re-read the description from the vendor, and it is accurate. After inspecting an exposed portion of the top material within the storage compartment, underneath the seat cushion, it does indeed appear to be genuine leather (see first picture). The other “leather” faced parts of the bench, i.e. any parts other than the seat cushion, do not appear to be 100% leather - the material appears to be bonded or PU leather, and it has a lattice of some light synthetic fabric on the underside of it (see second picture). The wood is indeed solid wood, as is observable by looking at areas where it is exposed; no particle board in this bench. The bench is reasonably heavy, and feels quite solid. In terms of quality of the material, the leather does not appear to be the highest quality. It is decent, and it does look like it will hold up over time. The color is a matte black, so it appears abit greyish. I’m hoping the leather conditioner will darken it, and give it a glossier sheen. The cushioning of the benchtop is quite firm and supportive, which is exactly what you want in a piano bench. It is quite comfortable, and helps promote good posture due to its firmness. The seat-height mechanism seems reasonably well-built, however I plan to only change the height when I am not sitting on the bench. The feet provided are adjustable as well, and are high quality. The hardware that is used to attach the legs to the bench appear to be hardened steel, once again good quality. One tip for those who need to change the height frequently: at the lowest height, the bottom of the seat top is flush with the glossy frame portion behind it (see third and fourth pictures). As you raise the seat top, you can see exactly how much you’ve raised it by the amount of the frame that gets exposed. The heigh variation is indeed 2.5”, which is quite adequate for most body types.Ultimately, is it worth the money? Yes, I think so. For $400, it is a good value, assuming that it will hold up over time. It does use reasonably good quality materials, has ample storage space for most people’s needs, and has plenty of bench room for duets. And it looks quite good. I would recommend this bench. One last thing - I did call CPS Imports to ask about what leather conditioner to use, and the guy who picked up the phone said “go get some stuff from Walmart, it should work fine.” So I would not expect much product expertise from the company’s support team. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go practice. The two-and-half-octave run at the end of Chopin’s Nocturne in c-sharp minor is calling my name.

What an awesome bench! It's large
What an awesome bench! It's large, luxurious, very sturdy, and quite elegant. Gives real class to my little spinet piano, and so comfortable I can now practice for hours at a time without my bottom and back growing tired. The top also opens to store one's music. The old saying is true: 'you get what you pay for". I absolutely love it!
