I bought Ortho Home Defense Insect Killer on Amazon to help with the constant wave of summer bugs, and I’m so glad I did. This stuff really works! I used it around the baseboards inside and along the outside perimeter of my home, and within a day or two, I noticed a big difference. No more ants in the kitchen, and way fewer creepy crawlers sneaking in at night. The spray comes with a handy wand that makes it super easy to apply evenly without having to bend over or deal with messes. It dries quickly and doesn’t leave behind any strong odor or sticky residue, which I really appreciate, especially with kids in the house. It’s been a few weeks since I first applied it, and it’s still keeping the bugs away. I haven’t had to reapply yet, and our home feels way more comfortable without flies, spiders, and ants making themselves at home.If you’re looking for an easy, effective way to keep summer bugs under control, I definitely recommend this. It’s a solid product that does exactly what it promises!

So many reasons this worked for me
I have tried professionals to control the ant situation every spring. I didn't find the results very good or effective. So I decided to try this perimeter spray purely as an exterior perimeter spray. Instructions say to respray every 4 weeks. There are one or two problematic areas, so I spray every 3 weeks and I use non-toxic methods to spot treat indoors since I have pets. In the last 2years, I like the results I am having much better results than the professional I had hired during the pandemic. #1 - I can determine when I start/stop treating for ants and adjust accordingly EQUALLY #1 - COST

Works great!!
This product worked amazing, and was way cheaper than hiring an exterminator (for our ant issues). Sprayed around the exterior and interior of my house (per the proper instructions), absolutely effective. Would highly reccomend.

Battery Powered
This is the first time I used a battery-powered spray jug. Wow! I love it. Is the battery-powered wand worth the extra money? I say YES. I can treat my entire house at a brisk pace, without the constant hassle of manually pressurizing the container. And, I get a more consistent application volume.I did not rate this product 5 stars because it did not provide instructions regarding battery replacement. When this jug is empty, I intend to purchase a more reasonably priced refill. I don't want the lifespan of this item to be determined by a battery. Also, my wand did not feature a "pinstream" option, for crack & crevice application. Instead, it offered two versions of "fanspray."Suggestion to Ortho: I don't need two "OFF" positions on the wand. Please add a "pin stream" option for indoor safety and neatness.

Ortho Home Defense Sprayer Jug
I just opened it today and discovered that the wand is broken.Extremely disappointed.I'm still giving the product 5 Stars because I use it every year to spray around the baseboards inside of our house. This product is great.Just a little bit of spray in the spring lasts all year long. It's very effective. The battery operated sprayer is easy to use.No pumping. The base of the jug is rectangular and just wide enough not to tip over.So it fits

Worth it!
This works! I moved to a new apartment with lots of trees and bushes near my unit. During my first week at the new place, I found at least one spider a day. After I almost walked into a spider hanging from my ceiling one morning, I needed something to repell these house guests. I sprayed once around my front and back doors, just to see if that would help. A week later, the number of encounters with bugs drastically decreased (went from one spider a day to one spider a week!). I will be doing another spray before I leave for a week long trip.

Short term review…..Edit drop down to 3 stars
So I used this like last week to get rid of spiders by my window. They keep setting up shop there. I went back today and sprayed again, expecting them to be back. Because that’s the usual for when I spray some repellents. After it dries, their webs are back up. But it wasn’t even one spider there. And it was some big ones before(california big. Not Australia). So I didn’t fully spray. Just one area but I quickly realized no spiders so I stopped. So this is a short term review. I’m going to set a reminder in my phone to check it in 3 months. I know it is advertised to last longer. But I want to check it at 3 month intervals, to see if it’s still working. Of course if it rains, the experiment is over lol. So I’ll come back in 3 months for an update.Mid Edit:As of 09/10/23, there’s still no spiders. And there are no huge spiders around where I live. Like a tarantula, wolf, or huntsman. Not that I’ve seen at least. This is a spider repellent review. Not a flamethrower review lol. And it rained from the hurricane/tropical storm that passed recently. I guess it didn’t hit the area directly or it wasn’t enough to wash it away. So that’s good it lasted this long. I’ll come back near the end of October for one final update. But I’m already sold with it lasting over a month.10/23/23Final update. Still no spiders outside my window. So it works for at least 3 months, which is good for me.One thing, don’t spray it in high bug areas like outside trash cans. I sprayed my outside trash cans because I don’t like touching spider webs when taking out the trash. Next time I’ll just spray the handles or something. Because there were so many more flies in and around the trash after there were no spiders left around there to catch them. So just be mindful of that. AND, it didn’t repel the flies. So it worked for spiders, not for the house flies.Edit: 05/05/2024I had no intentions of doing another edit. But I was so impressed I had to. I went out to spray my window again just now. And there were no spiders or other insects where I sprayed. No spider webs or anything. After rains, winds, time, and it’s living up to the claims so far of being long lasting defense. I just thought that was cool. This is the last update though. Because I sprayed it again even though it wasn’t needed. I was trying to see if a spider would come running out from where I couldn’t see it or something. lol nothing ran out. I wish it worked better for flies. But this is a must to keep handy if you deal with a lot of spiders. Oh. Side note. It hasn’t messed up my paint either. But this is a case by case basis. Do a spot check on your intended surface to test it first, if concerned. Ok. That’s all. Thank you for reading. Have a good dayedit: June 1, 2024.I sprayed in the doorway because spiders kept going there. They would come every couple of weeks. I sprayed and within 2 days I saw 3 spiders right where I sprayed. Didn't phase them at all. The daddy long leg ones. Not sure why it works so well for the outside spiders and not for the long legs. But hey. If I had to choose which spiders I wanted to stay away, it's definitely the ones outside. still disappointed though.
