No heat
For a 2005 pontiac g6 gt factory settings is 195 degrees. Thought I'd be fine at 180... wrong. It opens at 180 cools to about 160 no heat except right before it opens. Love the fail safe idea just won't work for me.

Quality Thermostat
Fast safe shipping, easy install, and happy with the results to drop the operating temperature of my vehicle. LV Nev. reached 122° which brought high temperatures operating my vehicle. I’m pleased to say this thermostat dropped the temperature to a lower degree. In heavy traffic, coolant temperatures can double and that is no longer a concern.

Should be called Fail Fast
I do not recommend. This thermostat failed in the open position within 2 months. For me when the thermostat encountered a hot stop and go traffic in Dallas on a hot August days it locked into the open position. When the weather cools the car will not warm up to proper temperature. The thermostat has tabs (highlighted w/ blue arrow in photo) that catch permanently when the thermostat opens up to a certain point. Had to replace it with a standard thermostat to get car back to normal temperature.
