Like it so much..I purchased 2 more!!
I wish I knew about this years ago. I like sausage in the morning but I’m concerned about the fat. I started eating turkey and chicken sausage. I prefer Shady Brook but they no longer sell it here in the south where I live. Although its lower in fat than the pork or beef, I still had concerns about the fat content because I have to monitor my cholesterol. I wanted to make my own sausage but I was concern about the hog casings that just didn’t sound too good.I have been grinding up chicken breast and making breakfast patties. I purchased this item and saw a way I could make smoked chicken sausage. I made my regular sausage mix and this time put it in the burger pan. I started up my smoker and smoke the meat at 200 degrees with cherry wood. I removed it and put it in the frig. The next morning I had smoked chicken sausage with grits. Now I can make my own smoked chicken or low fat sausage without any casings! I liked so much I purchased 2 more. Now I can make a dozen smoked sausages at a time in my smoker. Great product!

Nicely built but found it ineffectual for my purposes
I did not buy this item to make hotdog shape burgers. I had tried that before and simply didn't look right to me.I originally purchased it to explore making hot dog buns. While it produces a bun similar to a bread stick or hot dog, it didn't produce the effect I was looking for. Ineffectual. The picture included shows my results. For the finished buns, the one in the close foreground is actually a grilled beef hotdog wrapped in home made dough and baked in this vessel. As you can see the unfilled bun (background, bottom shot) took a cruise ship shape that, although didn't offend, it was not what I was looking for.In the end I learned how to shape consistent and good looking hotdog buns by hand and realized that to make a few home made hotdog buns, I really don't need any form. Just like with my pitas and naans, I periodic times to make each and freeze, ensuring adequate supply as I need them.Since this item is actually very well built and feels of quality, I will keep it and try other things, such as hash brown chorizo logs, doggie bean treats (already make them using another type of pan) or submarine shaped ricotta raviolis to name a few.I have updated with my use of this pan to shape veggie burgers into logs (not really hot dogs). They look attractive enough to serve 'naked' or they can be wrapped in tortilla (see photo).

Wish I had this 20 years ago.
Fantastic. I get tired of having hot dog buns and hamburger buns for cookouts. When I found this I thought: "I'll try it." Had about 30 people over for a cookout and made 10 lbs of Hamburger then had 75 hotdogs, 50 Brats. The hamburger was gone instantly and people coming back for more. Everyone started calling them Steve's burgerdogs and everyone wanted to get a pan so they can make some for their cookouts. I've baked them, I've pulled them out and froze them for later raw to put on grill they are fantastic. Wish I had this 20 years ago, now one bun covers all the meat.
