Great Value and Product!!!
I had been looking for a good wedge ax but didn't want to spend a lot of money considering frequency of use . This one fit my needs exactly. Took awhile to get it since the first was lost in shipping but as always Amazon was great in correcting the hickup. The ax is good quality and has a nice hickory handle. I put a little better edge on it but then I enjoy doing stuff like that.

Low cost, fair quality.
The axe works, bottom line. The steel is a bit on the cheap side but it holds an alright edge and does the job. Its not very pretty, as it's covered in grind marks and the handle is a light wood coated in some sort of brownish paint (thats the 'hickory' I bet). But you get a usable axe at a price that wont chop into your budget.Bottom line? If you get this bad boy pick up a sharpening puck, and maybe some sandpaper to straighten out the handle. Looks like a kid went st it with a marker.

Looks sharp, feels sharp!
Ive been using this axe to split wood now for a few months. I added a slight edge onto the blade using a Lanksy Sharpening Puck, and sanded the handle down slightly, but other than that, it's well-made and sturdy.I think I have about two cords through her so far, and she looks great and feels brand new.

Good Axe, but didn’t come with a workable factory edge.
This is a pretty solid Axe, it’s durable, handsome, and a good length for my long arms. That said, this doesn’t come with a properly working edge. It has one, but isn’t remotely sharp. I’m not sure if I missed it in the description, but I was expecting at least a decent edge out of the box. It would easily be a four star if it did.

Well made little Ax.
A little shorter than I'm use too. Not as sharp out of the box but well made and will last a long time if cared for. Does its job. Quality.

Soft spots and bad handle fit.
Axe head steel has soft spots at blade edge and that makes it almost impossible to get a good edge. I have had a fair amount of time swinging an axe for firewood and sometimes for fun. I have sharpened all my axes by file for better part of 20 years and never have I seen this type of problem. I purchased this axe because the reviews were "promising" however I will not buy or recommend this item to anyone else.

Bites DEEP after general tuning
First day - out of the box - I could see the potential. The factory edge was OK for general purpose. The fit of the head was excellent. The finish was acceptable. Later I sanded the handle just a bit and I ground a 'proper' edge. The next day I went out and this axe bit DEEP for a 1250g (2.75-lb) head. The handle is American Hickory, but I do believe the head is made in Germany. Overall, after the general touch-up as described, this axe is a fantastic bargain ($40).

Strong axe
Good axe, wood is a little rough but i sanded papered it down a bit and added some grip tape. It’s pretty heavy so gets a good swing coming down.... Pretty as well
