Good Mounting Plate for Tight Spots
This mounting plate or bar really helps mount accessories on either your tripod, for photo work or telescope mounts.I have a Star Adventurer 2i mount (great compact star tracker!) which has a limited amount of space and weight capabilities and I've used this bar to mount things that actually helped balance the mount in general. Astronomy EQ type of mounts have a middle pivot point (polar axis) that you must use to balance between the telescope and counter-weights. This plate (bar) really helps me distribute the weight by its placement on the counter weight side or even right over the pivot!4 stars instead 5? ..because the screws that help mount the devices have a handle to help turn the screw without a tool but unfortunately it's almost impossible to grab the little handle in the slot or channel. So I just have to have a little screwdriver with me to pop the handle down first, but no big deal.Overall this quality little bar is a big Life Saver!
