is this real genuine leather?

This bag is quality leather. The only problem I've had with it is the zipper clasps hinges are weak. Two have broken from normal use. I've replaced them with more sturdy ones. The bag works to hold my phone and A6 Samsung tablet amongst other things.

Are there any pockets on the back side?

There is a pocket on the back, there are plenty of room in the bag as it is.
