The Best Dog Bed EVER
My Golden has hip dysplasia, it has been very difficult to manage, as well as witness her discomfort and suffering. She is a seven year old dog, who came from an abused start in life. Daisy is golden in every sense, sweet, loyal, gentle...she never complains. To see her unable to jump on the bed, attempt the steps without success, walk holding up her leg, it is heartbreaking. I can't and won't stand it. She is on a daily dose of Turmeric for inflammation, chondroitin, glucosamine with MSM, I watch her weight, keep her covered with a blanket, she has pain medication from the Vet...then I found this bed. I am not exaggerating, there was a difference after a single day. A SINGLE DAY. We live in Ohio, right on the lake. it is cold and bitter, plenty of snow. She is playing in it. Rolling in it. Making dog Angels. Laying on that bed has been a turning point. I am telling EVERYONE. Thank-you, thank-you, THANK-YOU! (AND DAISY THANKS YOU, TOO!) I would like to add that I did considerable research before choosing a bed for her. Choosing a bed free of toxic odors is significant for her well being as well as ours. Made in the USA is also a big selling point. HHurray for this bed!

Very Satisfied
I purchased this dog bed for my 8 year old German Shepherd who is a big part of my family. She has problems with her legs, no hip displasia, worn knees, she is overweight so have her on a diet. A few days ago she came into the house and went straight for her bed then came back to the dining room, not very happy. One of our cats was on the bed. I took my GS to the bed and told her it was her bed hoping the cat would move. The cat was happy where it was and had no intentions to get off. My GS just tolerates cats, so I had to physically move the cat to the sofa explaining why I was doing so and then my GS went on her bed. She even likes to eat her meals lying on the bed so I am well pleased with it. I appreciate the support she is receiving as it is a sturdy bed, not flimsy or sagging. I am hoping to get one for the back seat of my van as she lies on the back seat and it is not very comfortable I am sure, but I do not know if I can get a size appropriate. I put her old bed which is flimsy on top of it so she won't dirty this one as she likes to eat on the bed.

BEST BED
I spent many hours researching orthopedic dog beds when I first saw my 4yr. old hunting dog having a hard time getting up. My heart sank, and I thought it to early for arthritis or hip dsyplasia but that I would get an orthopedic bed anyway. After much reading it looked like the memory foam pads would be better than any foam fill that would sink in the middle.I first bought a memory foam from "dogbed4less" to see if the dogs (2 hunters: 60lbs and 75lbs.) would like it. After seeing they were happy I thought I would get another one from a different company since so many of them sounded good. Next I ordered this one in the gel memory foam from "dogonit" sold by "back support systems". Last I ordered from "K9 Ballistic" and outdoor orthopedic bed.All the beds are excellent and both dogs sleep on all 3. They share the outdoor xlarge bed..All the beds have a waterproof backing or a waterproof inner liner so the memory foam is protected. Both indoor beds I purchased with the microsuede cover. "dogonit" cover is alittle thicker than the one from "dogbed4less" but that maybe because it has the waterproof backing on the suede and not a separate nylon liner as the dogbed4less."All are extra thick 4" to 5" with a firmer foam underneath for support. dogbed4less has a sale on 3" beds but I think the thicker is better for large dogs.I emailed dogbed4less with some questions and they quickly responded.I phoned dogonit with some questions and they answered my questions. (They will be making other sizes.)I did not try and contact K9 Ballistics.I cannot comment on the longevity of the beds as all are new.Look at the picture of the gel memory foam on this site and the top foam acts just like the picture. It is "buttery soft" and springs back slowly just like my tempur-pedic mattress. This is the best mattress. All 3 are nice beds but the gel memory foam by "dogonit" is really top of the line and the grade of foam is superior.

Great investment
My 56LB Labrador alternates between sleeping in her regular dog bed and her crate, but her bouts of digging and nesting in her crate has torn holes in two bed covers in as many years. Since it was one of those inflatable matresses, and it wasn't holding its form well anymore, we decided to try a bed with more support, structure, and longevity. I was a bit apprehensive about spending so much on a bed that could potentially be shredded into foamfetti, but figured I would try it and see how it goes. She hasn't had it long enough to know yet, but she hasn't felt the need to dig or arrange the cover just so, which must mean that it is comfortable enough without fussing with it, and the cover is quite snug with no wrinkly spots. The foam itself is very supportive with a firm two inches as the base, which keeps her from feeling the floor when the softer foam layer in the middle and the gel foam on top dip in and mold to her body. It came folded in a bag, but expanded to full size in about an hour and fits perfectly in her crate with no gaps about the edges to pinch little paws or tails. The cover seems pretty sturdy, but dirt and hair clings to it like crazy. Luckily it is easy to remove and wash, and we just tucked a blanket over it for added warmth and protection. Before I even had it in the crate, my dog ran over and jumped on it, then ran off to get an antler to try out the comfortability of chewing on the bed. Once in her crate, she is able to lie curled up and stretched out, but her legs would hang off the sides a little if not confined by the crate. She is more of a curled up sleeping dog anyway. The gel layer retains a bit of her body heat, but not so much to over heat her on warm days/nights. It has only been a day, and the novelty hasn't worn off yet, but she definitely appears to love love love it and is favouring it more than her regular cup bed. It was worth the price, and I will absolutely buy a larger size for around the house when I get a bigger place.
