Best M50x Pads For Keeping Original Sound Profile
I have, over the four years I have owned them, tried numerous replacement earpads for my Audio-Technica M50x headphones. These include various brands, styles, and materials. Out of all of them, the Dekoni Elite Velour pads are by far the most true to the original sound profile of the headphones. There is a good chance that aside from more solid bass you won't be even able to tell the difference, and if you do, the provided frequency chart allows for simple minor tweaks. All cuts, nothing needs to be boosted. Now, beyond the sound, these pads are also extremely comfortable. Somehow they were able to keep that sound despite these being much deeper (and thus more cushioned) than the stock pads. The velour is dense and soft, without any scatchiness to cause itching. They stay cooler and drier than any leather or pleather type pads, but a bit warmer than the fully perforated leather/pleather I have tried. These pads also do a surprisingly good job and sound isolation and leakage prevention. Both are a tad worse than stock in this regard, but much better than most pads of a breathable material. Also, something minor though, be prepared to occasionally remove lint. Again, they do manage to be better than pads of similar materials, but that is to a relative degree. The Dekoni Choice Hybrids have a very similar sound profile to the Elite Velours, both being true to stock, which made it difficult to chose one over the other when ordering. I ultimately chose the velours as they have (according to their respective sound profile charts) less of a bump in bass over the stock pads. It's possible the hybrids could be more breathable, though. You almost certainly can't go wrong with either. Suffice it to say, I am very pleased with these replacement pads, and cannot recommend them highly enough. Well done, Dekoni.

Very comfortable worth every penny.
I spent good money on highly recommended headphones for working in the studio and for band practice and got great sound...but earpads that were not comfortable and that irritated my left earlobe when worn. II was going to return the headphones and get something more comfortable, but saw the Dekoni pads and found I could order new pads designed for my headphones. I loved the sounds I was getting and although I didn't like the idea that I needed to buy pads for expensive headphones...but went ahead and ordered the Dekoni Elite Velour pads. They fit perfect, feel amazing and in fact even improved the sound and seal on the phones that already had good sound. I wear them for hours at a time with no irritation at all. I highly recommend these whether you are replacing worn ones or are just unhappy with the current fit of your over ear headphones. I

Great upgrade but a little too pricey
Comfort - just deep enough so my ears don't get squished like with the stock pads, but not as deep as WickedCushions pads. My ears still touch the mesh slightly, which I don't mind. Unlike WC, these pads don't alter the sound significantly. Subbass becomes a little more elevated, and treble becomes a tad drier compared to the stock pads, but overall the tradeoff is worth it for me. The fit is also very good - nice and tight, although they are still relatively easy to rotate, but not as bad as WC, which for me are really loose. These are definitely not leather so sellers please update the description. Not that I assumed these would be real leather at this price. Still, the pleather is nice and soft, maybe a little too thin. I'll try to update this review after I see how long it lasts. Overall I think these are a good buy if you absolutely hate the stock pads' comfort but they would've been a great buy if they were $10 cheaper. If you are ok with the stock pads' comfort and sound and need replacements, don't bother with these.

Great pads for the Audio Technical ATH-M50
These pads are great for my 'phones! They are super comfortable, they fit great, very soft, have amazing sound isolation, quality is there, and they do not seem to have any adverse effect on the audio. I purchased these specifically because they are made of REAL leather. I have had my headphones since they were first originally released. The pads on mine hardened and disintegrated years ago and were seriously starting to cause pain. I bought real leather in the hopes of extending the lifespan of my headphones; and because there are lots of mixed reviews on the reproduced audio quality with velour/velvet; and because I couldn't stomach the idea of pleather again. I am not a programmer per say but I do a lot of programming for work. I use these when I want to concentrate and I use them for hours at a time (lower levels, of course). These new pads really are great. For some background... I am a synthesizer nerd. My headphones were originally used for monitoring purposes when I couldn't use my studio monitors. Needless to say I care about the fidelity of reproduced & monitored audio... Don't be afraid of these pads.

Sounds Good, but doesn't last.
They're comfortable and better than the stock earpads that came with my M40x's, but they started peeling after just a year with extremely light use. I pick up my headphones maybe once or twice a month. I contacted the company, but they didn't seem to care and sounded like that was normal for them. Definitely wouldn’t buy them ever again, especially for the cost of them.

Very Comfortable Earpads
Compared to the stock ATH-M50X stock earpads the Elite Valour's are deeper and completely surround the ear similar to many gaming headsets I've used. They are very comfortable and the material appears to be high quality and is very soft. Dekoni's website mentions noise isolation as being one of the features of the earpads but while they do muffle outside noise slightly I can still hear everything going on around me without any audio playing which may or may not be preferable to some users. This honestly doesn't bother me at all as I just needed new earpads since my stock ones were starting to peel after 6 years of use but since it was a listed feature I thought it was worth mentioning.

Ottimi pads sostitutivi per Audiotechnica ATH-M50. Innanzitutto sono molto confortevoli e rispetto agli originali non danno fastidio sulle orecchie. Molto be realizzati e curati. Consigliati

The memory foam leather ear pads are very comfortable compared to its stock leather pads. However, the fitting is loose and it's able to rotate once you fix it on the headphones. I also noticed a slight change in the sound comparing to the stock leather pads. The bassy effect is noticeably lower but the mids are higher. Overall, they're good and comfortable leather pads but not for those who might have problems adjusting to the sound change due to this ear pads.

The product description says it is compatible with the "ATH M series" which seems to indicate it would work with my ATH-M70x, so I took a chance. However, it turns out they are not compatible, at least not as well as they should be. It seems the M70x uses hooks into a plastic ring around the ear pad, while the Dekoni replacements use a more traditional wrap around edge. You can get the hooks into the ear pad wrap and it sort of works, but the hooks are quite shallow and it will come off easily with a bit of a pull. Moreover, because of this design incompatibility, the earpads sit a ways off from the base which looks pretty ugly. I considered returning them, but they are honestly so much more comfortable than the original pads (which are now flaking away anyway). They are larger and contain my whole ears more comfortably and make for a larger sound stage due to their increased size. I can't comment on durability as I just received them, but they certainly look and feel of a much higher quality than the originals. There don't seem to be any equivalent quality replacements for the M70x unfortunately, so I will stick with these and perhaps glue or double-sided tape the pads to the base. These would be 5 stars if not for the incompatibility issue when they are advertised to work with this model...

Firstly I'd like to say that I bought these to go onto my Roland RH-300's as they are approximately the same size and shape as the M50x's, so you may want to disregard what I say about how it affects the sound. About the sound, from listening and measuring with the equipment I have, the sound doesn't seem to be markedly different to the stock pads. The main difference is that the mids sound slightly more recessed than they did before, but only slightly and I couldn't reliably measure much difference. As for the pads themselves, they are a great improvement over the original it terms of comfort. They are much deeper and softer which means I can wear my headphones for hours on end with no discomfort. Conclusion these are great headphones in terms of comfort, in terms of sound your mileage may vary due to your own ears and head shape, but generally it doesn't seem to affect much from my experience on my RH-300's.
