Purchased as a gift for my father to replace one that had long since dried out. No one could stop staring at it. The design and craftsmanship is impeccable. Some may consider these pricy, but you definitely pay for what you get. These are works of art. I noted that cheaper ones broke, dried quickly, or didn't last as they should have.

I personally didn't think it was as nice as pictured. It smells heavily of wood stain, even 5 days later. The stain itself is browner than in the photo, and some of the wood was chipped on the front and is very noticeable. The sand moves slowly, and sometimes not at all. It's like it gets stuck, to the point I have to shake it like an old etch-a-sketch to get it going. The sand itself is beautiful, just not nearly worth the price.

The only thing that could make this better is if it could have come in a black frame. It has provided countless hours of mind soothing tranquility. Just the thing one needs after a long stressful day at work.
