Cutech 40700-CT 12 1/2" Straight Knife Planer - Budget Model …

this thing works great. Been using it all day long with no issues. Not too loud, and the lowest priced planer I could find. Glad I didn’t get the Dewault that costs twice as much. I’ll be looking for more cutech tools the next time I need something.

Works well except for some small marks left on the wood. The marks aren't terrible but for being a brand new machine with brand new blades, I would expect the boards to be a bit smoother. Also, the vent for the shavings is a very bad design. The way it is made it has to be taken off and dumped after 1 or 2 boards or it clogs up badly. Overall, for the price I am happy so far.

This product was one i spent days before i finally pulled the buy button on. I have a small shop, and am truly one that just plays around with woodworking. I tell people if i working with wood it is stress release most likely.That said, i am working on a few products including making some moldings to go around screen patio. This investment allowed me to use so lower cost pine and create a wonderful uniformed product around the patio and added greatly to the "finished" appeal to the patio.I also have used it to finish some rough stock cedar for outdoor furniture with equally solid results.Very happy with the product.

I love to build stuff from pallets and my husband was going to buy me a $500 Dewalt Planer until I told him about this brand and the reviews I had read. He was very pleased this is all metal, durable and high quality. Even though Cutech says this is budget model there's nothing "cheap" about the quality. We are very pleased and the boards come out super smooth!

I've run a couple hundred board feet through this now, and it's been a champ. It's not the most precise planer ever, but it's not bad either. Just pay attention when using it, and take things slowly and you'll be fine.

Planer arrived on time and was just as described and works perfect.

This is a solid tool Takes common blades. Its chewed through 1000's of feet of wood and just keeps coming.

I had issues locating where to purchase blades for my CUTECH 40700-CT. I email them via [email protected] and Mike replied within minutes with a link to the exact Web address to the blades. My planer has become the starting point for all my projects. The original blades have lasted a little over 6 months with an occasional cleaning. I have broken down and planed probably 200+ pallets.
