Candied Fruit - 1 Lb Tub (Diced Citron)

It's becoming difficult to find old fashioned candied fruit mix in my local grocery stores so I was so relieved to find it on Amazon. My mom's fruitcake recipe is almost a century old. This fruit is exactly like what was used by her.

Excellent product. Great taste and moist. Not overly syrupy either. Will buy more products from this company.

I get this product for the Holiday Baking Bonanza that happens at our home every year. This year I tried this brand for the first time and was not disappointed. The flavor is amazing, it looks pretty in the baked items, mostly fruitcakes, Panettone's, and Pandoro's. The flavor and texture really make my baked goods feel more European in flavor and appearance. My husband made the suggestion that we take some of the citrus peel and put it into some brandy or vodka and let it soak and see what happens to the alcohol, like making your own Grand Marnier...I am thinking he might be onto something there.

There was a bit of excess syrup in the fruit but the taste and chewiness were delightful. This mix includes red and green cherries as well as red, green, and undyed pineapple. The size of the pieces was uniform and solidly of a chopped consistency. Made wonderful fruitcake cookies.

More expensive than I had hoped, but can't find candied citron locally, and need it for baking. Flavor is good at least.

Just what I was looking for. Used to buy it at grocery stores but now can’t find it anywhere . It is quite pricey but it will last me for a while

Nice. Not as strong taste as I expected. Used it in cookies and had to use double the amount to really taste the orange in them. Wish this did not contain high fructose corn syrup though!!

So nice to have fresh, moist and tasty candied Citron instead of the "aged" plasticized products you find in your local supermarket (if you can find it at all.)
