This scarf is entirely hand painted. I do the work by directly painting on silk with french dye and this gives the unique, non-reproducible value. Basically, a wearable piece of art. I never use guides or pre-design models. The fins of the Black Moor fish amaze by their transparencies. Expressionist direct freehand painting - I never use masks or pre-drawings. This piece is created in The Serti technique where a contour is traced prior to applying the dye in order to stop the spreading of the color (sometimes the contour line might have a slight feel since they are created with a different special ink). After the painting the scarf is carefully steamed for a long time making the dye chemically bond with the silk for permanent impressions. This will create such vivid colors, preserving in the same time the soft texture of the silk. Please appreciate the slight imperfection as being an element of authenticity a personal artist's touch which contribute to the value of the scarf. This is a one of a kind piece in the entire world (not a serial item) . If I would be to try to repaint the same model myself it will result in a different piece with its own personality. After the steaming the piece is washed, ironed and placed with care in a hand made origami paper gift box. The box consists of hand-made paper and it's engraved manually with my signature using the Chinese seal stamp technique. In order to preserve the beauty of the painting please follow suggestion for washing: Wash it gently in cold water with a minimal amount of soap. Rinse very well. Remove water excess. Please, avoid drying in direct sunlight. Iron in low settings without steam, using a clean white cloth on top of the scarf. Do not use chemicals like bleach, chlorine or alcohols!
