Not very sharp but is pretty good overall

I have used these in my drill press for trimming pen blanks. This one isn't very sharp.

Using this is way easier than sanding the pen you're making. Its way easier to get a perfectly square pen with this tool.

Yes this did what it supposed to do , I can turn pins on my lathe now

All in all I’m pretty happy with it. There’s one spot on the cutter head that could be a little more well machined and sharper; it’s 5 stars “For the price”. It’s not top of the line but works pretty well

The local woodworking store was selling something similar for twice the price. I decided to check this out and when it arrived, I was pleasantly surprised with the quality. I found the right barrel boring bit and attached the flat top trimmer easily. It resulted in the perfect fit for my pen blank. 10/10 would recommend

I purchased a set of these and none of the mandrels fit tight in the pen blanks. So much slop that I could not get a square end to start with. A complete waste of money. The only reason I purchased these was my good set I got from Woodcraft was stolen with a lot of my other tools when I moved out of the Washington DC area.
