Grand Trail: A Magnificent Journey to the Heart of Ultrarunning and Racing Hardcover – November 15, 2016

We borrowed this book from the library and fell in love with it, didn't want to return it! The photography is no less than stunning! The perspective, the composition, lighting, rhetorical content, landscape, human element in relation to landscape, are all breathtaking! So I had to gift my trail running partner with a permanent copy for our perusal and inspiration in perpetuity. I mean, this book is a "keeper" in so many ways!

If you enjoy trail running, and either run ultras or are fascinated with ultrarunners, this is a great book for you. The photography is great. Some of the shots of runners in various landscapes are inspirational. There are also interesting articles, and candid shots of, some great runners. It's a coffee table book that I look though often.

Good book with good photos wish they had included a section on the Barkley Marathons

This is a coffee table book with lots of nice photos of trail runners amidst their races with amazing mountainous backdrops. The book features a number of popular ultra trail races, and famous ultra marathon trail runners. There are not a lot of text, making it an easier and fast read.This would be a great gift to any of your friends who are into trail running.

My husband and I are trail runners and really loved reading this book. The photography is beautiful but the written sections are also well done and inspiring to learn more about the range of athletes. Even more impressive was My father-in-law who has never run in his life loved reading it.

Stunning photography, incredible runners, stunning panoramas, inspiration abounds everywhere in this wonderful coffee table book. It would make an amazing gift for anyone that loves photography and running or any combination of those...

A beautiful look at the world of trail running and the people who have shaped its history. Astounding photos and insight into the lives of those who have made the sport what it is.

This book expresses the true spirit of trail running. The photos and stories within it make this my favorite trail running book. Highly recommended.
