When these components come in contact with water they create a sticky foam that fills the entire pipe, coating the roots and pipeline surfaces with the RootX formula. easy to use
A plumber and I added Rootkill to the outside cleanout. The applicator fitted easily into the container. The instructions were thorough and helpful. There was no foam backup. A large amount of water was added. I had had a major blockage and had had the sewer line snaked. The plumber said that was the best way. Apply the product to the clean line. So far, everything works. Did it kill the roots? I have no idea. That remains to be seen.

Really works
The plumber could not clear my 100ft sewer line with a high pressure device. I added the root=x , and left it for 24hrs. while he arranged for blue steak to dig up the yard. It completely cleared. Now I add to the pipe once a year as prevention.

Rootx works for me!
I have a large soft maple tree that has roots getting into my drain pipe. I use it in early April and October and keeps the pipe clean.

Not sure if the first application did any good since it did not mix and foam up
Despite shaking the "stuff" as directed, it did not mix. The one side was hard and did not move so it did not get mixed. Next time I will know to loosen up both sides before I try to mix. Think that should be included in the directions. Not sure if the first application did any good since it did not mix and foam up. So I might have just "blown" $70.

Seems to work well...no sewer back-ups since using.
I use one of these every fall as my house was built in 1940 and the house main sewer line is under the basement floor. The line going from the house to the street is clay (yikes). But this has kept my two trees in the front yard from forcing me to do any high $$$ sewer line replacement...thus far. I hope it stays that way.

Good stuff.
Very good product for keeping your sewer line clear. It comes with a funnel for safe and easy use. I use this twice a year and am very happy with the results.
