Builder's Best 011430 Galvanized Dryer Vent Hood

The unit was purchased to replace the dryer vent that had cracked. The unit is of solid construction with heavier gauge steel that is rolled and riveted together.Very solidly built, however that became a problem during install. While the hole in the wall was round the vent was not. This made it difficult to slide into the wall as the vent did not readily conform to the opening as a thin walled vent might. The construction of the vent made for another issue. The riveted seam protruded outward, this required me to file a slot into the round opening to accept the protrusion.While it was not as easy to install as previous purchased vents it is solid and I would purchase another if ever the need arises and I would recommend it's purchase just keep a large file or rasp on hand.

Sturdy and well made. It was very easy to install. Only thing I'd change would be making the exterior flange a little wider to accommodate masonry screws. The holes are too small for an appropriate size screw. No big deal, it fits so snug we can seal it with silicone and it will be fine.

My second purchase of this item, Strong good vent on first purchase, Second purchase had extra metal curved outward on back so would not fit flush against a flat surface, returned and reordered.It is a sturdy all metal vent exit.

Nice piece. IT IS REAL METAL. It's not super heavy but I can see it lasting for decades. Not bad.

GREAT PRODUCT !!!! ... PLENTY OF EXTRA PIPE FOR CUT OFF TO AN EXACTING FIT... RUGGED- VERY-VERY TOUGH - MUCH - MUCH TOUGHER AND SAFER THAN PLASTIC (IN MY OPINION)

Solid steel construction , easy to install and hook up, built for the long run !

Had to trim of about 4 inches of the pipe and then everything fit just right.
