LIFE SAVER
OKAY I do not usually write reviews but this thing is awesome and other people should know it. We have had a furminator for years idk how people have dogs without one but it’s always been a long ordeal to use it bc the fur doesn’t come off very easily even when you press the button it sticks and you have to like pull it off and then hair is everywhere etc. THIS THING is so simple yet LIFE SAVING. I was a little skeptical bc some reviews were bad but I got it anyways and BOY IM GLAD I DID. I hooked it up to my shopvac and VIOLA my furminator is now quick very effective and useful. Soon as you push the button on the furminator all the hair just vanishes. Into the shop vac, not on my shirt, on the floor, or on the dog it is contained and easily disposed of. This thing is amazing it took me about 5 mins to deshed my dog that sheds the most (he has medium length hair and a lot of it) he is usually a 30 min job without the vacuum attachment. My dog can now lounge on the furniture without me having to vacuum it every time he gets up!

Gimmicky, and difficult to use...
I really, really like our Fuminator brush. So I was willing to try the 'vacuum' attachment.Perhaps my expectations were too high because we have enjoyed using our Fuminator brush on our two huskies. The brush works well. But... the vacuum device is simply a cradle for the brush that positions the vacuum pickup right under the brush teeth. Now to be fair, the device sort of worked, you could brush the dogs, and when you push the button to clear the teeth, the dog hair would sort of get sucked into the Furminator vacuum attachment.Sort of...The brush itself sits in the vacuum cradle and is held in place with a simple small band of velcro. In my opinion, this band is inadequate for holding the brush in place. You can see from the photo I posted, that when used with our whole house vacuum, the attachment is rather difficult and unwieldy to use on the dogs. And I will be fair and say that a hose directly connected to the Furminator vacuum attachment would be easier to use. This is the first time I plan on returning a product because I was not impressed with how it worked. In my view, the vacuum attachment does not add a lot of value...But, for the right folks, under the right conditions, you may have better luck with it than I did.

fits poorly
Didn't work with our old furminator so we bought a new one. Still doesn't conform to the shape of the attachment very well. Also I have to remove the extensions and do a lot of shoving to get it to just barely fit on our vacuum tube. The attachment has a very narrow space to suck up the hair. The end result is something semi-functional that misses some of the loosened hair and occasionally requires stopping to pull it off the brush or feed the missed piles into the vacuum. I decided combined with the dogs' dislike of being directly vacuumed (although tolerated with much bribery) it is easier to just flip the vacuum on long enough to suck up loose hair, turn it off while creating another pile of hair, and repeat than try to use this method to brush and vacuum at the same time.Furminators also are not very good for use on our smaller husky who has an extra fluffy undercoat in some places. They work great on our akita, shiba, and malamute cross that have more course hair than fluff but tend to just get lodged in the husky's endless soft fur while tearing excess top coat off when there is already more looose fur than we can deal with. Other styles of brush work better for that particular dog. This attachment has very few other brands or styles of brush it will work with so this was a limited option for her anyway.I'm sure there are better, more versatile vacuum brush attachments out there.

Works like a charm - only a couple of issues...
First, if you dog does not like vacuums, this tool will not work. You cannot make a dog that does not like to be around the sound of a vacuum suddenly like it so take that into consideration before you buy it.Our English Lab (yellow) does not mind being vacuumed - I would use one of the brush attachments every now and then when she'd be shedding her undercoat and she'd just lay there. She's very laid back and extremely easy going. Because of that this tool, in combination with the Furminator, is AMAZING.. The only reason I can't rate it 5 stars is because I agree with others when they say it needs to be re-engineered. the components and parts don't fit tightly together and as some have stated, it creates even more noise than there has to be. The trickiest part of this entire process was getting the dog washed, but then figuring out when I had to press the release to allow the fur to be sucked away. We have a Dyson for animals and it attached just fine.So no, not perfect, but sure beats having to brush and then release into a paper bag and that makes it well worth the money. Will try to upload photo of canister a little later when i'm not on a mobile device.

Nice attachment
I really like this set up. Seeing other reviews first, I did purchase the FurMinator de-shedding brush with this vacuum attachment. I tried it on our newly adopted young adult husky (oh the fur!) and we were both fighting it with our main vacuum (stand up Bissell) - SO I looked and decided to buy a cheap bagless canister vacuum (also Bissell) and gave that a try - SO MUCH BETTER! He gladly laid on the floor and it was enjoyable and easier on us both. The attachment DOES come with a separate adapter so it can be used on nearly any vacuum. I did not need the adapter for the stand up Bissell, but did for the canister (as showed in pictures). I'm using the large brush, but it also came with the adapter to change out for the small/medium size brush as well. It's nice so you can just push the button and (most) of the fur with whoosh up the vacuum on it's own - and the little bit of loose fur will also get sucked up as you go...another way to help keep the area clean while working out some of the fur.
