Elseworlds: Batman Vol. 2

This trilogy, where Batman starts out fighting Dracula, aided by one of his long ago victims, and ends up... no that would be telling. All I can say is that this should be read by any fan of comics, heroes, vampires - whatever, they should. And the faint of heart should read it in the day time or with the lights on.

This collections is Doug Moench's revisiting Batman as a vampire, from BATMAN & DRACULA: RED RAIN, BATMAN: BLOODSTORM and BATMAN: CRIMSON MIST. This is a much darker take on Batman and a tragic one, the art is very dated to the 1990s now, but the gothic color scheme and lettering is effective. The story arch is bleak but comes to a definitive end.

The first and last story are great, the middle one seemed like filler. I am a great fan of the DC Elseworlds and "What if"stories from Marvel. The portrayals of Alfred and Commissioner Gordon are outstanding, the portrayal of Dracula is solid, but the middle story is missing something. I really wanted to like this book more.

This text collects three bold and dark titles that imagine Batman in the Dracula mythology. It's a fair price for many stories, and the art of Kelley Jones is unique. There is violence in the book, so I recommend it for more mature readers.

Batman faces Dracula, only to become a vampire himself! The third act is really something. I like this character as a demon out from hell. The build-up is sort of slow, but the payoff is bloody good fun.

The three arcs are quit good especially the last one, seeing a complete madness driven Batman.

If you like the idea of an even darker Batman- here's the version of him as a full blown vampire all collected in a single volume for your viewing pleasure. Interesting point of view that doesn't at all effect mainstream continuity of the storyline in other books.

I never read this comic before!I love elseworld DC but this one just evaded me for years despite loving Doug Moenchs run on Batman.I’m never good at reading joined up writing, but that’s just my own personal issue.The art is fantastic and this is the whole trilogy.The story is brilliantly paced and is gripping. It just had me hooked from the second I started reading.Batman is the same beautiful evil design I remember from The 90’s.I think out of all the Elseworld comics this has to be my favourite!Just brilliance.This isn’t the Batman we all know and love, this is a violent vampire Batman but he still holds his code...just. Maybe?I won’t spoil this comic incase you haven’t read it.The comic is just an average paperback much like Elseworlds Volume 1.Nice one enough paper, glossy. Not massively thick paper, but that’s by and by.A real treasure in my collection of Batman comics.

don't let the stars deter , this is a great read and any fan of the batman will enjoy an alternative viewthe low stars is because unfortunately this was delivered in a poor manner which damaged the book

Book had the classic storyline but mine was damaged with pages bent two thirds in so review is for the books story and art which are as above, classic.

The comic is great story. My two stars is due to the lack of care in packaging the product. First of all the comic is not wrapped, doesn't come in cellophane or paper. Mine came pretty scratched. A shame for the price point they are charging. Second it came along another comic, but it was basically "floating" inside the box, not enough airbags to make sure the content is tight enough. I would recommend to get this product somewhere else.
