I have found the book to be invluable in discovering all of the resources of this little machine. There are assets that I would never have discovered on my own.Well put together and easy to read - it is vital for not only new owners but people who think they have the Nexus well under control

Awesome book! I am learning a great deal about the android. Before the norm was you have to have instructions on the screen for the user to know. Now everything is hidden and you have to know where to click to do things. You get a more accurate knowledge reading a book rather than someone telling you. The book calls for Nexus 7 but if you have a device with 100% android, this is the book for you. The knowledge applies.

As a complete beginner I found this book impossible. First I wanted to learn how to take a photo. Nothing in this book; the neighbor kid showed me in 2 minutes. Then I wanted to PERMANENTLY delete a photo-not just slide it off the screen. Not in this book. Next I wanted to create a video of my dogs at play. I couldn't find anything in the book about that-no simple instructions. So far, a totally useless book.

Unfortunately, very short on some basic commands.Almost extinct do to the version of Android.

clear not to tech'y and relevant leads one thru the start and set up which can be daunting for dinosaurs

This was the best of all the basic books on the Nexus 7, per recommendation from a geek friend of mine. I got it few hours before my Nexus arrived, read it an drilled a few steps, and am able to comfortably use my tablet.

Compared to other manuals, this is particularly poor. Mainly in the way it is produced, but the syntax is also difficult to follow.

A very practical, experienced guide to a brilliant tablet. Chris Kennedy has gone clearly to a lot of trouble to ensure the reader gets the best out of the latest Nexus 7.

This is a great book as it takes you step by step in setting up your Nexus 7 the way you want it.
