...it broke the first time I used it.Thanks to the power(!) of data capture, at some point in the past I must have searched for a tall tripod as recently I started seeing 'ultra high tripod' ads from Amazon on Facebook (funny how that happens isn't it?). They were all for this K&F model, so I checked out some YouTube reviews all of which were very favourable.Notwithstanding that these reviewers seem to have received the product from K&F in return for a review - and included one that completely failed to notice one of the tripods most distinctive features (the tilting centre column) and another that criticised it for have a 'non standard' quick release plate (it's actually an Arca Swiss type, the nearest there is to an industry standard for these things) - I added it to my basket, accompanied by a 5% off voucher (funny how that happens too...).Surprisingly compact when folded in the included carry case, fully extended the tripod reaches almost 2.5 metres high and the two stage centre column can be tilted up to 45 degrees. The column can also be reversed and the legs set to different lengths and angles to accommodate the most challenging photographic locations, and making it ideal for video and macro work too. Further versatility comes with the ability to detach one leg to use as a monopod in combination with the centre column.A quick test on delivery seemed to confirm that this was just the tripod that I needed and I put it to work the very same day. Others who saw it were impressed too - until it came time to fold it up when I discovered that one of the leg sections had become firmly stuck in the extended position. I did eventually manage to get it to retract only to find that it would not come out again. Fortunately being fulfilled by Amazon a return was easily sorted, and after a little consideration I have ordered another one.This is a very well designed and versatile tripod and I really do hope that the replacement proves to be more durable - if so I will certainly update this to a 5* review.UPDATE - 2 years later the replacement is still working well, so updated to 5* as mentioned above.

UPDATE:I did email Ken Faith and they responded almost immediately. I sent a video and they were apologetic and offered to send a replacement. Seems like this one shouldn't have passed QC.Very impressed with the service and have upped my review from 2-star to three on this basis.Previous review:This is a rather wobbly tripod due to the double-column design at the top, even when the center column is all the way down.The great thing about it is that there is a pretty long two-part center column which means that if you need to go vertical quickly during shoots, you have a lot of range here. As I mainly use flash, the slight wobble isn't such a big deal to me but I would imagine this would be a deal-breaker if you shot natural light (in low light conditions) or landscapes and would not want to use the center column at all.The worst part is that two of the legs wobbled off with very light use. They weren't glued in properly and some kind of powder seemed to be securing them. I will email Ken Faith to see what they do, will update the review if I hear back.I’ve only had it 1.5 months.

I'm using this with a Bosch laser tape measure and it works very well. This is very nicely designed and made making it sturdy over a massive rang of heights and angles.
