Works as Advertised
The media could not be loaded. I'm 62 years old but still strong. With one hands of grip force I lifted 120 pounds and could have lifted more. I was exerting quite a bit of force. The video demonstrates the lift. It was the heaviest object of known weight I could test. The lift arm is designed to lift, push, expand, whatever it's expanding surfaces come into contact with. It can develop a lot of force. What it doesn't do well is release smoothly. You hit the release button and all that force/power/action is released in the blink of an eye. It's the nature of the beast, there are many lifting arms on the market that release exactly the same way. I'm no engineer but I believe it would require a hydraulic cylinder to facilitate slow and smooth releases.

why didnt I get these helping claws sooner?!?
The media could not be loaded. This arm jack was purchased to help me with large sections of sheetrock that needed to be repaired in our home. I immediately recognized how useful this device could be. It's as if you had a second person with you to assist you in lifting heavy objects. Because most of my friends and relatives work and have small children to care for, it's difficult to find anyone with a spare minute in their schedules. With this useful tool, I can work diligently around and beneath objects that would normally require two hands to support. The designs include the lifting of a sunken back deck as well as the purchase of another. However, this is an excellent tool for the elderly to use around the house. This item will come in handy if you're looking for something beneath a couch and need to move it or if you need to close a door. It's also incredibly simple to use. One word of caution: do not exceed the weight limit of 286 pounds. However, with a weight capacity of nearly 300 pounds, this device can assist with nearly any domestic task.

Very handy for a one man show...
Since I work alone for most projects, this is the extra pair of hands I need from time to time...

Works OK but poor finish
These units provide a sturdy support for the task at hand and the price reflects that value. The base of the unit(s) do not line up as expected with the lifting surface. This is made better by attaching a larger wood base to add stability. The machined edges of the tools are sharp and the plating on the base and lifting surfaces are not smooth.

Great if you own a home
These elevator lifts are amazing. I used them to put my radiators on. I would have annoyed a friend but this was better. No whining and moving. Lol. I replaced all the doors in my house plus the bi fold closet doors. I thought I would need help but with these I did it alone. Plus they don't get tired or move while I am screwing the doors to the wall. So I can take my time opposed to having the help whine. I also used these to lift the front on my dryer when I had to unclog the filter and needed to dry underneath. Buy them....they have unlimited uses.

Great as a “Helping Hand” !!
This is a must have, especially if you are a Do-it-Yourself kind of person!! Comes in Really Handy if you are trying to hang a door! Helps you hold onto and level off the door as you screw in the hinges. With this, you don’t have to strain your back and you don’t have to worry about the door falling onto your toes or fingers. I would Highly recommend this for your toolbox!!

OK for light items
This will work fine for drywall or a door, but it won't work for a heavy item like lifting a leg of a chest to put a slider under it. It says lift capacity of 220 pounds (why I bought it vs. the $200 Viking) but there is no way it can do that. It works for lighter loads (30 pounds or less).
