This gave me more hope than I had before.
I am a vegetarian who struggles with the guilt of not being vegan because of my selfish desire to continue consuming dairy products. My understanding of the cruelty that goes on in most commercial dairy institutions lead me to begin dreaming of someday opening a cruelty and slaughter-free dairy farm. I started doing research into the prospect and have seen hurdle after hurdle cross my path (not unexpectedly). However, I also discovered that there are at least two dairy farms in the western world that have adopted the Hindu method of cattle rearing (the Gita Nagari Yoga Farm in Philadelphia and the Ahimsa Dairy Foundation in the United Kingdom.)This book features some informative history and insight from the Ahimsa farm in the UK. While it isn't a "how to" book, it does provide a lot of good information and gives me hope that someday I may be able to actually achieve a similar story of success.

The Cure for Nature's Imbalance
The abuses of modern technology are destroying the planet. Nature and Nature's God have created cows, bulls, and oxen to work the land together and provide us nourishing milk, earth enriching manure (that can even be used to produce biofuel) and labor to plow, pull, or turn generators. If we want to survive, we must learn to protect these wonderful beasts from abuses of the slaughterhouse and modern factory dairies. Please read The English Teacher and The Golden Avatar for more information about how to transform world consciousness to Krishna Consciousness.
