I just purchased this book for my daughters—twin five year olds—and they both just LOVE it. They relate to each of the girls in a different way. One of my daughters even brought it to school as her FAVORITE book.Thank you Crystal Swain-Bates for truly speaking to our beautiful, brown children.

My niece loved the book!

I can understand the immediate outrage from the title of the book. However, when read it shows to young girls with a darker complexion that they are beautiful as well. It is not demeaning those that have a lighter complexion or fairer skin. It is only reassuring girls that they are beautiful darker as well.

Have some respect for other races. "Brown" girls club is inherently racist toward all other races.Racism of any kind is abhorrent.
