I decided to replace my old plastic cutting boards with wood. After reading a lot, I realized some woods are too soft and leave deep cutting marks. Others are too hard and dull knives.Acacia Wood seemed to be somewhere in the middle.Not having bought a cutting board in way too long, the price of wooden boards was a lot higher than I expected. I strongly considered getting cheap ones and frequently replacing as needed. Then I saw these. They seemed a good compromise; not horrendously expensive, but expensive enough to suggest some quality.I have not been disappointed.My first response on opening the package is how beautiful they are. I hesitated to post a picture because it doesn't begin to do them justice. I had a place in a drawer planned for them, but they haven't made it off the counter.I also hesitated the first time I used one. If this is truly soft enough wood to not dull my knives, it was sure to show the cutting marks and make them less beautiful. Since one side is for meat and the other for most everything else, and the packages comes with two, I decided to just use one board for meat and one for the rest. That way I could enjoy the uncut side.I've used one several times now. I can't vouch for if it dulls knives or not because I've only had it a few weeks. It does, indeed, leave cutting marks as expected. Much to my surprise, though, those marks didn't make it look bad (at least, not to me.) I can't come up with the word I'm looking for, but basically the knife marks just make it look lovingly used. I can still enjoy the looks.The company sends an email explaining care and the one year warranty. I don't know if it's standard to get those on cutting boards or not; I am pleased they offer it. Since I have a history of using plastic boards, the care information was very helpful.In short, these boards are gorgeous. I like them so well I have to resist looking at other boards from this company, because I don't need more than two.If you're looking for cutting boards that leave no marks, this isn't the one. I wasn't willing to potentially sacrifice knife quality to get one that hard. If you're looking for an overall good cutting board, beautiful to look at, a reasonable price, and a good company to purchase from, this is it.

The Sonder cutting board I bought is tough and attractive and provides an excellent cutting surface. It has a nicely machined juice groove around the edges which for me is a must. The quality of constuction is high and the price is reasonable. I added clear plastic spacers on the bottom corners to lift it off the counter top, keeping the underside dry.

The cutting boards are very nice, but the “gift box” they came in was a complete disaster when they arrived. They were not shipped in a shipping box, just the gift box they come in. There were holes in the box and it almost looked like someone opened it. It was a gift, so I didn’t have time to return and reorder, so I used my own box to gift them. Nice product but beware of shipping damage. A shipping box should definitely be used.

I liked the sizes, how great the instructions were and most of all... its nice to know I am not poisoning myself or others with plastics in the food.

Beautiful hardwood cutting boards at a great price. Thicker than I expected. Exactly what we were hoping for.What sets this vendor apart was the service. We experience an issue with one of our boards, and they resolved the situation with 110% satisfaction. Communication was great.Highly recommended!

The boards are beautiful and well-made. They would be great as serving boards. I did not like as chopping boards: after a single use, the surface was all scratched up with knife marks despite oiling before and after. Do not recommend for cutting if the beautiful wood finish matters to you.

Very impressed! It came very well packaged. Secured in a very nice padded lid box. It has how-to-care instructions for longevity protection. I have been using plastic cutting boards for a while and am finally happy I switched over to wooden cutting boards. These are acacia wood boards are gorgeous and can't wait to use them.
