Good, regular, practice building sentences in French is close at hand on your phone or computer, thanks to Kindle and this book.
I am impressed with this book. If you have been studying French for a while, and you understand what you hear and read pretty well, but you still find it challenging to put sentences together in conversations in real time from the vocabulary and grammar that you know, this book will help you become more fluent, and feel more confident. The Kindle version works quite well. Using the bookmark feature, you can flip back and forth between the exercises and the answers, even more efficiently than in a hard copy book. You can see both locations in the left column, and you just click back and forth, as you say the answer to yourself, then read it in the answer key to make sure you got it right. Nothing motivates like incremental success. The exercises move ahead at a good pace. Just enough repetition to establish each concept, but not too much to bore you. Then you move on to the next step, using what you just learned. It feels quite comfortable.

Excellent resource for revising for a French exam
Excellent resource for revising for a French exam. I like the fact that it explains the essence of each lesson in English because it gave me a deeper understanding of some of the things I had already been taught in French that were not quite clear. I have been looking for this type of book for a long time. Most importantly I passed my exam!!!

Practice makes perfect
This is a good book for intermediate students to learn sentence construction of the French language. The numerous exercises in the book provide the ability to write your sentences and to correct your errors when you (inevitably) make them. The author of the book makes the assumption that the readers of the book already have a certain working knowledge of French, that's why if you're a beginner, or medium beginner, this book really isn't for you, but for intermediate students who need help with improving their french sentence construction, this book is a must, and the more I use it, the more I learn!

It promises to be an excellent source of material
I am a retired French teacher and am currently facilitating a group of three other adults who have a desire to upgrade their skills in the French language. I have just begun to use this book as a reference for the sessions we will be having this year. It promises to be an excellent source of material.

The Missing Reference
Excellent learning aid! This forces the reader (gently, of course) into integrating all the various parts of the language into something you can use. It is well-written, with many clear examples that actually reinforce that lesson's topics. I don't necessarily suggest this for beginners, but would for those trying to improve their writing and speaking skills. It is well worth the investment.

Great Refresher/Skills builder
I found this a great was way to stay fresh in between semesters or just to brush up on skills post graduation. We all paid a lot to learn French, why lose it because you do not use it. My only recommendation is if you could get an audio guide to help learn proper pronunciation and intonations.

Geard towards more advanced French students
This series of books is great for those wanting to tune up their existing French. This book assumes you've taken French for a while and it doesn't dumb things down. This is grammar and French grammar is notoriously difficult. This book is not recommend for those wanting to brush up on their rusty French before going on a trip to Paris. That said, as someone who studied French all through high school, this book is great for improving the French I already know.

just confusing
I'm a "medium beginner" with French, and I am usually able to comprehend most of the ins and outs of the way sentences are structured. This book, within the first few pages, throws amazingly complicated sentences at you, and really without benefit of explanation as to WHY the sentences are structured in such a way. When being taught to structure a sentence, I believe that I should be given a breakdown of it and an explanation as to why a certain word must be put before or after, why some words are left out, and exactly what n'en MEANS!! They also use a lot of conjugations that really a much more advanced student would be more familiar with. I find it absurd that this is offered as a tool to teach students how to structure sentences when they don't really TEACH you, they expect you to already know all the rules. I made it to page 10 and after getting every single sentence wrong, I decided to put it away until I have already learned how to do it and then just come back to it and use it for practice. I have several other books that I have found very helpful, such as Barron's French Verb Workbook and The Ultimate French Review and Practice, and Practice Makes Perfect Complete French Grammar. But this book is just plain torture for anyone who isn't very familiar with the language already.

Practice Makes Perfect Sentence Builder
Fabulous. Over the years I have experienced many difficulties in comprehending certain aspects of the French language and had thought it was something I would just have to accept that I could not grasp, but suddenly all has become clear! I strongly recommend the book. Do not be put off because the paper quality is not of the highest spec. because the content is very good. Maybe not for the absolute beginner, I would recommend Michel Thomas for that task, but there again if you are an absolute beginner I would "buy and save for later". In my opinion this book certainly has the edge when learning sentence structure. Along with gramatical definitions and a clear explanation to how all types of sentences are structured, makes this book a great find.

Very Useful
As with all the PMP French books, this is an excellent addition to your library. It covers a bit of everything in relation to how sentences are constructed, with 20 chapters in all. Again like all these books, it benefits from being revisited after you've read a few others, as it helps to put things into context more that way. There are usually 10-15 exercises per chapter, each with 6-10 questions, so there's plenty of opportunity to practice what you've learned.

Helpfull
It's good to find a different way of improving my french. The notes on grammar are a bit intense. However, reading and writing french sentences, containing reasonably common french words, is good practice. There are answers at the back of the book but no dictionary.
