The problem is you need to actually understand signal output to be able to use this. HDMI is DIGITAL signal. RCA is ANALOG. For most devices to use this, you need a CONVERTER to actually transform the signal from digital to analog. This is a bit of wire. It is not smart enough to convert signal on its own. Do your research and get all the parts you need before you claim that something is faulty. This cable will only work on its own if your television/screen is capable of doing the conversion itself. Otherwise go buy the rest of the parts you need. Or just get a simple converter box and use regular cables through that.
