Takes a bit of sharpening to make it really slice through brush and cane grass but that is probably good, so one does not slice
It is really a lot larger than I expected. It wields well when cutting through brush. Takes a bit of sharpening to make it really slice through brush and cane grass but that is probably good, so one does not slice off a finger unpacking it. I would have given it 5 stars if the handle were larger. I have a fairly small hand and my hand covers the whole handle. You slam hard against the bottom stop protrusion when you impact strong branches and this injured my hand a bit and caused a blister. I am going to make my own wooden handle that will go up higher on the blade and maybe file out some depressions for my fingers to fit in individually. I am pretty sure that would give me a better grip and prevent sliding and impacting with the end protrusion. We used to do that with the ones we used in Vietnam and that worked pretty well.
