JUST WHAT I WANTED, WORKS BEAUTIFULLY

I've tried numerous dimmers over the years and have never found a solution that was able to fully dim my low voltage track fixtures without causing the lights to flicker. I even replaced many of the transformers on the fixtures trying to get them to dim correctly. After installing this dimmer, all of the fixtures dim perfectly to any level, without flickering - it's magic. This product is very well constructed, too. Highly recommended!

I purchased two of these under the assumption that I would be able to use them to dim the same lights from two locations. What Amazon does not tell you is that you can not use two of these to operate the same light. This unit is a master unit and requires a slave unit in order to dim lights from two different locations. There is nothing on the Amazon write up that tells you this. After reading the directions where they tell you that it only works with a slave unit I ordered the unit called out in the directions (Lutron MA-R-AL Maestro Companion Dimmer) and then had no difficulty getting the properly matched pair to dim the light from two different locations. I give the unit 4 stars and Amazon negative stars for this particular purchase.

Installed several of these Lutron dimmer switches in our house when it was built several (18) years ago. They work very well and I especially enjoy seeing the little dot display on side of switch which shows amount of dimming performed. This is a replacement, as with anything else, will wear out. It was important to find a switch that matched existing with ivory color, etc.

I have installed this in all the light switches of my home and they are great. You can control the amount of light you need saving you a lot of money on electrical bills, Plus they are cool. This is an instant upgrade to your home.

Note this Dimmer is not for LEDs. Other than that, it works great. I would suggest getting a dimmer that does LEDs as that is where everything is going.

The "on" delay time on these units (the time from off to completely on), is considerably faster on these model switches than other models by Lutron. I am guessing this likely has something to do with the LED or CFL needing voltage sooner. Manufacturer might want to adjust for this. Wife finds it annoying, and wanted her lights the same speed as the rest. So I guess I'll be getting another switch. lol :)

Easy to use once you learn how the two rocker switches adjust the light level and slowly turn lights up to the desired level of brightness and dim off by tapping the larger switch. Manual resetting of light level can be done at any time with the smaller switch. There also is a delay off setting I haven't needed to use.
