These lights are amazing. If you can’t find a use for it then put it under your kitchen cabinets for a counter light. It will probably cost less than actual counter lights. It Has tons of colors, built in themes and it’s extremely vibrant and bright! Syncing the light to music or sound doesn’t work that well. There’s a response delay so it doesn’t match music but that’s a gimmick anyway! For the price it’s perfect as a mood light. You can schedule the lights and control them via an app also!

I purchased the lights to put around my home theater riser and to control via Alexa. Main uses are to act as a safety light when a movie is playing and to display multiple colors when room is used for playing music.Setup was fairly straight forward via the app and had no issues connecting to bluetooth and wifi. About 3/4 of my installation required mounting on a carpeted riser, using mounts screwed into the wood underneath carpeting. The mounts worked well for this purpose, but the lights only came with 10 for a 32' string. Govee does not sell additional mounts separately, so I had to find and buy additional mounts to complete install. For the back wall, I used the adhesive and had no problems installing.For the use as a safety light, these work well. Lots of color options and brightness can be set in 1% increments. Light is actually very bright and for movie viewing, I dim them down to 1% on red.For music, I'm not so sure. When I put into music mode, lights already start blinking and changing even though nothing is playing. When I start the actual music, hard to say if patterns are really that much different to when it's not playing. I'm going to play with the settings more to see if I can get it more to my expectations. Part of the problem may be that it's because the lights are low to the ground, that I may need to place another set on the walls. Will update if I get better results.

These lights are so awesome! The music sync is my favorite. The ability to phone control and alexa/Google assistant activate the lights is badass! Definitely would recommend these! And definitely will buy more to finish decorating my room!

Really awful design. I have two other models from Govee and the adhesive remote was set up great in those, the antena and power cords point down and the extension cord that connects to the lights points up. In this one you've got no antena and instead the extension cord and power cord point straight down. No easy way to explain that. (Picture included for clarity)As a note, I use my lights on the top border of my walls so if I want the button device pointing the right way (basically with the buttons and letters being right side up), I will have to bend the extension cord awkwardly up, and if I turn it upside down so that the extension cord points up I will have to bend the power cord down, either way it's ugly. And the final nail in the coffin is that the power cord is black and not seamless like the other model I have which matches the white of the adhesive remote and blends with the device. Just overall disappointed with the design and really wondering if I got a used/opened product/wrong product? Also this one doesn't come with a handheld remote, you will 100% need the app or smart home device.For the price and the length of the lights it's still a fair deal, I think, and the lights themselves seemed bright and nice. So with that in mind I won't be returning it but I thought other nitpicks may like to know what they're getting into with this one.

Govee is my favorite of the LED light brands. I've never been disappointed. Works well with Alexa.
