The Old Nobby Gait Belt with handles is ideal for Transferring people who are partially dependent, or have weight considerations. The transfer belts are an essential tool for care workers that assists in safe patient transfers and reduces the back stress on care workers. Having transfer belts with handles (2 horizontal and 4 Vertical Patient Grips) makes the Gait Transfer Belt for patient care easy via the secured stitching for maximum stability The dimensions of the gait transfer belt allows usage of 28” to 50” to deliver excellent leverage access point to reduce the risk of injury to the caregiver and patient. Please note: - Ensure gait transfer belt is securely fastened and can’t be easily undone during transfer. - To avoid abrasion use a layer of clothing between residents' skin and the belt gait. - Please review residents condition as the transfer Belt gait may not be suitable for ambulation of heavy residents or residents with recent abdominal or back surgery, - The transfer belts should not be used for lifting residents. - Keep good body mechanics by having the resident kept as close as possible to caregiver during transfer.

Very Secure
My mother spent her 88th birthday in a nursing home as a result of a serious fall that resulted in a concussion. Once she was released back into my care, I wanted a gait belt to use at home, particularly as she maneuvered the ramp in and out of the house. While this belt is certainly more expensive than the five-dollar versions that are used in medical facilities, for me the extra money is well-worth it. Once the belt is fit to her, each use simply requires the quick-click buckle be snapped together, and we're off. The handles are used at this point, and, for me, are the best part. There are six: four vertical and two horizontal. They are sewn securely to the belt with no possibility of coming loose, and it is a great relief to know that even if she stumbles, there is no way that she will fall. If she does stumble, I can grab one of the other handles with my free hand, and I have found that it makes her far more brave about walking, since she knows she's safe. Because there are so many handles, I can walk with her on either side, and can still hold her securely. Then, after our walk, once again, the quick-release buckle removes the belt in a second, and she can sit down and rest.I highly recommend this belt, assuming money is not an object.

Look elsewhere ... Plastic buckle snapped while lifting my wife
I have used this product to assist my wife (76 years old, 135 lbs) in walking and getting up from a seated position. I purchased the product 18 days ago. It is very easy to secure the belt about my wife, and the belt snaps together with a distinctive SNAP, and was securely closed. Tonight as I picked my wife up from the sofa, the plastic tines on the belt broke, snapping as I picked her up from a seated position on the sofa. The belt opened and my wife fell away from me. Fortunately, she fell back on the sofa and was unhurt, but it is OUTRAGEOUS that such a defect would exist in this sort of a product. What sort of product testing was performed prior to marketing this product ?I certainly would look elsewhere for a gait belt, and immediately purchased a competitor's product this evening with similar features and a METAL fastener. Caveat emptor.

I CAN'T BELIEVE MY GOOD FORTUNE
I am not a care giver but the actual gaitee. Although I mainly use a walker and cannot get upper aerobic exercise when I go out to my front door and back, all the handles ensure me I'm going to get there in one piece. I have no tales of assisted living gait belts that failed, came unstitched, or otherwise self-destructed, but I am certain, between gait belt and I, I am likely to be the one to fall apart first. Safety, durability, assurance. O almost feel like sleeping in it to be at the ready in the event I should torque or (in torquing) lose my balance debarking from my too high bed. I could see at once, with least injury to myself, If I should faint or fall or slip, I can be managed with those superb, industrial strength grips, handles on all sides. I could be lifted without injury or stress to me and my shadow. The gait belt arrived today. By three AM I had fallen somehow to the floor. (There were no black cats on the premises.) I knew I had broken nothing, didn't hit my head, was fully conscious. I live alone. I called my care person 8 blocks away. She brought her husband for extra strength. Between the two of them I was up without the least stress to any part of me. It felt like floating into my zero gravity chair I disagree with one who thinks the backpack type quick-release latch might come undone too easily. I say 'can't happen', unless, perhaps, one is at the outer limits of circumference. I think nothing about this superb product in its category can be surpassed. I never thought I'd shout out about a product I didn't think I needed. Now, If I EVER need to be hospitalized again, or go to sleep lab, I'll need to find a way to adhere my name without a Sharpie (shameful to interrupt the rhythm of the stitching). But if I don' mark it in some way it's sure to be stolen. Things happen. Not to my Nobby. If my 5 stars doesn't say it loud enough, I urge you without reservation to tell injured neighbors and friends. Help this young company grow. I tend to favor made in USA, small businesses over the rapacious corporate. Function, Endurance is what you'll get. As to keeping it clean: I can't even imagine how it could get dirty. How could it unless...well, there's that. Have you bought this yet? (I am in no way associated with the owner.)

I notice a similar belt in the rehabilitation she was in --- I knew that my two sisters would be challenge in helping mother get around. I order the belt and put to use. What can I say! The belt worked great... no matter what side you stand at the belt has a grab strap making it easy. It nice to order something online and get good use out it. Excellent!

Have used the single transfer belt before, your design with the loop handles and wider back makes it more comfortable for the person being transferred as you not having to twist the belt and digging into an already sore body. Showed it to home therapist before it was used, they had not seen this style but thought it was good. Showing it and where we got it to other people.

SAFE AND SECURE
This was one of the best purchases I have made. This is a well designed, quality product. I feel so much safer and confident transferring my wife. Her physical therapist was very impressed and encouraged me to use it while she is healing from a compression fracture in her back. Great design and very comfortable for my wife. Love it !!!

This really helps keep my husband from falling. It's easy to grab if she starts getting wobbly and he walks more confidently with it on, knowing I can grab him if starts to fall. It also helps a lot getting him up from a chair or couch.
