Works well with changes
First, I think there's confusion about the magnets. The V1 dimmer had magnets in the holder while the V2 dimmer has a magnet in the dimmer that magnetically attaches to a steel disk in the holder. You have a couple of options, but the one I chose was to buy a $5 pack of thin 30mm steel disks from Amazon that came with peel-off adhesive. I left the original disk in place on the back of the holder and added one to the front. It fit perfectly and now works as intended. Samotech should do this for us during manufacturing, but they didn't, so it's up to us to make it work or send it back.

Game changer with some faults
Absolutely love the concept! It stops people who aren’t familiar with Hue from shutting off the switch, it makes for an great dock for the remote where the switch typically is.The only fault to this is the magnet on the remote to the metal plate on the back of this just don’t have the best contact to stay on. It’s fine in most cases but even the slightest bump and the remote goes flying.I would still recommend it. I ended up buying 6 of them so far.

Easy way to keep the switch but make it disappear while having a remote
The good:- It is very simple to cover the switch below to prevent accidental usage.- It holds the remote just fineThe bad- The magnetism is less pronounced that the original Hue plate- It seems a bit pricy for what it is.So there you have it. I bought two more of these, as I do want to keep the switches in case I want to go back, but the remote did clatter down several times already. So could be better.

Needs a stronger magnet
Looks ok and is a great way to install the remote in a rental apartment so it can be easily removed when moving out.The magnet is too weak so its easy to knock the switch down when looking for it in the dark. I might try adding neodymium magnets or just double sided tape.

Works as advertised!
I have the Hue system in my condo and I currently have it linked to my Amazon Alexa. But a lot of people are not aware of this so they inadvertently switch off my power to the lights. I’ve always wanted the Hue dimmer switch, but didn’t like to add another wall adhesive and make the room look clunky. So I got this and it works very well! It’s easy to install and uninstall. The small piece of metal behind the plastic does a good enough job holding the dimmer in place (please be aware that there’s a magnet IN the Hue dimmer switch). I can press the buttons on the switch with ease and it does not fall off. I guess if you want a stronger hold, you can glue another thin piece of metal to the back. There is enough space for it. Now guests can turn on and off my Hue lights with the switch without turning off the power! Nifty little gadget!
