Waterlox6044 sealants, clear

High building penetrating Tung Oil finish. After almost 40 years of woodworking, I just recently became aware of Waterlox. I used the Original Satin finish, brushed on with a foam brush. I recommend applying four coats with a brush, sanding the finish flat with 400 grit paper, followed by 1000 grit (use soapy water as a lubricant. Rebrushing several coats (or more) knocking down the finish again and finishing the project with a hand rubbed application of oil on a cloth and then either a dry buffing with sheep's wool buffing pad, or for a less high sheen finish, with superfine steel wool. It takes some weeks for the Tung Oil smell to no longer be noticeable, but the finish is hard enough to use after a few days. Great product, best oil I have ever used. I would note that it does have a slightly brown color and the more you build the finish up, the more the brown will be apparent. On walnut, it was perfect.We've been using the table for a bit over a year and I have to say we've done nothing special to protect the finish nor have we use a tablecloth as a wood is too beautiful to hide. The Finish has held up fantastic I couldn't be more pleased with the performance.

I bought this to use on unfinished walnut kitchen cabinets since I didn't want a shiny finish. After a couple of coats, the doors showed a whitish cast that completely ruined the beauty of the natural grain. After a horrified internet search, I realized that the manufacturer recommends only coat of satin be used as an end coat. The satin finish has emulsions that build up over multiple coats and leave a muddy finish on the wood. I had to sand down the satin and put on multiple coats of the original finish and the cabinets look great!

We did not want a high gloss finish on our original heart pine floors so we used three coats of Waterlox Original and the final coat was the Original Satin. When you first apply it it will show all the brush strokes but don't be alarmed it will self level and dry to an even sheen . Trick is to keep a wet edge and do not keep passing over the same area, apply a good coat in each pass and leave it alone.

Countertops was what this product was used for...Just make sure how much you need first as we thought it would take a gallon and we didn't need that much, but will use the rest for future projects...It was a good product and would order again

My 100 year old floor restoration came out flawless. So easy to use. High odor at application but gone in 2 days. Much better than the long lasting smell of other products. Worth the money. So very happy with how my project came out.
