Enviro Mulch Colorant
I purchased because I did not want to mulch this year due to the fact that my mulch beds already had too much mulch and needed another year to break down some more. I decided to try to just color them instead. Well, this is not a bad idea maybe for a short term fix, but for the whole season, not so much. What happens is that only the top gets colored (I soaked heavily and had loosened up the mulch before starting the process) and then when the mulch gets stirred up, there is no color underneath. Also, this is a VERY MESSY PROCESS and it is a PAIN to keep it off the grass, sidewalks and driveway edges. Also, the product keeps plugging up the spray nozzle and you have to keep taking it apart to clean it out. By the time I was done, I was worn out and full of stain from head to toe and even with my best efforts, I got too much stain on my concrete. Overall, the color came out nice, and would be great for a business or golf course that needs to spruce up the property for an event and had this product applied commercially, but I would not recommend it for the regular every day homeowner trying to use this to replace a new application of mulch for the season. I did receive the product very quickly from the company.

Works
Never heard of this product before. Someone told me about it and I thought I would give it a try. Works great and saved my back from hauling in new mulch to top off old. Goes a long ways too.

Great product!
Great product. Will buy again. Some reviews said it's messy. It's a type of stain, so of course it's going to be messy. Just use caution like you would with any stain. It was perfect for our mulch!

I wanted my mulch dark brown so I used the higher dose recommended. Note
Worked well for me! I didn't need mulch this year but wanted to freshen up my garden beds. This did the trick! I used empty bottled water bottles to measure the dye and then added it to my sprayer. I wanted my mulch dark brown so I used the higher dose recommended. Note: occasionally i did have to take the sprayer nozzle off and stick a pin through it to unclog it but it was painless.

This is basically black, not brown
It has been very easy to use but it does not match the brown mulch that I have, it is so dark I would say it was black. I have earthgro and vigoro brown mulch and this does not even come close to matching it.

Use a battery operated sprayer.
works quite well. I would recommend using a battery powered sprayer if you have much of an area to cover. It makes a world of difference! The stain covers well, and can be adjusted to a darker or lighter shade by addin more/less water. Looks quite good when applied.

Works well
Tried the colorback product and wasn't impressed, gave enviro color a try and was every happy with the end result. A month after the application it still looks good.
