The story of precious was heart wrenching but throughout the book she gains a voice and is able to start dealing with her traumatic past. Precious is such a beautiful and misunderstood soul. I cried. I was rooting for her success the entire way and couldn’t put the book down. I finished it in one sitting. I would highly recommend - but there is heavy discussion of incest, sexual abuse, etc (as they are a part of precious’s life), not for those who may struggle with reading about those things.

A good, yet disturbing read. Shorter than I thought.

5 stars! More detailed in the book than the movie. After reading the book i wish they would have included more on the big screen. Its definitely captivating. I would recommend.

Fantastic read!! Powerful and unavoidable! Completed in record time... just couldn't put it down! Important, enlightening and should be REQUIRED READING, in my opinion.

This was a really good book very tough the things precious has to go through very eye opening to you never know what someone is going through!
